Whats on the menu tonight?

Cheeseburgers.
Then my wife, on her day off...made apple crisp, apple sauce...apples are fallin' off the trees, gotta do something with them.
Deviled eggs, potato salad. both have just...the right amount of horseradish. She strained the black berries thru cheese cloth, my dad does not do seeds. he will get blackberry cobbler. He eats simple, boring meals. we make him...the good stuff!! He seems to love it! he is 85, different generation.
trust me..no "forums" no cell phone. I have showed him the joy of ebay...he is cool with that.
No rock 'n roll...one beer a day...max. Goes to bed at like...9. God bless,
I can not wait to tell him...I'am watching the magnificent 7...first time.

Yep, my dad went to bed early most nights. Now I'm following in his footsteps! Sometime I go to bed around 11 p.m.; but there are a lot of nights, I'm in bed at 9 p.m.! I just go to bed when I get sleepy. It may be 12 a.m., or it may be 12 p.m.. I was so used to going to bed early and getting up early, that it took a long time to get out of that habit after I retired. lol
I found one of the burger patties in the fridge yesterday. So I made a big hamburger, toasted whole wheat bun, Miracle Whip, tomato, heated the patty. Then I filled my plate with salad, mixture of iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots, and red cabbage. Heaped just the right amount of Litehouse Coleslaw dressing on it. Gee, that tasted good!
About 6:30, I got the 'munchies'. The day before, I had pour a package of Chef Swagger's Kitchen Onion soup mix into 16 ounces of sour cream. After being in the fridge for just over 24 hours, the flavor had really blended. Ate about a fourth of it with tortilla chips; and a little whiskey.

Taco salad tonight , this is the only trip south of the border that I make.....all the veggies and hot pepper's from the garden, shredded chili chicken, smothered with cheese, and a cold Long Trail Ale......Gary

Chicken Fried Steak, Gravy, and mashed taters.

Higgy, I used to take the little cube steaks, dredge them thru an egg and milk mixture, then into a mixture of flour and spices. Ease 'em into a skillet of hot oil, turn after about 2 to 3 minutes, then remove them after another 1 to 2 minutes. Place them on paper towels to soak up the oil. Make a large skillet of white cream gravy with plenty of black pepper and serve with French fries, cottage fries, or baked potato. I used to buy the Rhodes frozen rolls and loaves of bread. That's really good with any meal.

Son-in-law, yesterday, grilled a rack of ribs, and some boneless chicken breasts. Today will be leftovers!

Cheated tonight...got Sonnys BBQ...dry rub rib dinner and pork sandwich on garlic toast, French fries and baked beans.

We have a little BBQ place that opened a few months ago. They are only serving pork at this time; but are planning to add beef later. There's a couple from Houston that opened it. Pretty good BBQ; also serve sausages and some chicken.

Steamed Crab Legs here tonight.... just stand in line outside I'll call ya when it's your turn. But if Viking brings all the seafood here on our big get-together (sometime) we'll let a few in!!!! :tongue3:

Brad that sounds amazing! Where do you buy your crab legs? We're going detecting in a little bit and I made up some obviously gravity defying black bean salad to go with tacos for a fast meal.
