Welcome to the site! Please post an introduction thread.

Hey, I'm new to the whole digging world. I'm currently in the Philly area.

Hello fellow treasure hunters... Coming from Central Texas here.. Im in to metal detecting and chasing signs (esp. Spanish in West Texas region) have been reading site for a while and really impressed with this source of knowledge. Look forward to making contacts and eliciting the help of experts.

Howdy! I was raised a prospector's daughter. Lived in the house on top the hill in Gold Dust, N.M.; went to school in Hillsboro :) One of my most favorite childhood memories, learning to pan gold when I was 5. Visiting our neighbor there, that lived in a cave. Following my Dad around those hills/mountains as he prospected for gold. His last years he concentrated more on silver/ore mining in Silver City. N.M. area. Hubby and I are planning our journey back west this summer via horse pulled covered wagon. Would dearly love to return to my ol'stomping grounds and look around, maybe even try a lil panning. For the ol'times.

Hello from Germany!

I am not a newbie , am an old man acting like a young man. Have sailed acrossed the pacific and sailed most of the orient I am an adventurer by nature so I guess my interest in exploring and finding things and places are in my heart. I live in salt lake city now but can not stand the city...sorry die hard Utahans....like getting out on the deserts. Not interested in city parks and school metal detecting. Don't really care if nuggets of gold abound in Utah deserts just like having days of just looking around, if a reward is found all the better in a days walk. I love my cigarettes, some whiskey, and camp fires to tell tall tales by.

Welcome to TreasureNet George.

Hello. I am new to this site but an old hand at treasure/relic hunting having been the southeastern factory representative for Fisher Research Lab when they were based in California. In addition I have been using metal detecting equipment for 30+ years. I was also the head judge at the GNRS for 10 years. As mentioned by Padre of Lakeland, a divorce can and did create quite a stumbling block in life but I can only speak for myself. Hope to hear from some of my old dealers, even the ones who still owe me $. Carpe Diem!

Hello. I too am new to this site and relatively new to metal detecting. It is a pleasure to learn such a fun pasttime and have a very knowledgeable, experienced teacher. The history I have learned since moving to Tennessee is amazing. Looking forward to learning plenty more.

ok Tony, just a friendly hint, avoid putting phone numbers and such on posts. Not a good idea

Just recently joined up, and am still navigating around checking out various threads and trying to familiarize myself with how everything works . I am a native Texan, but have spent some time in Indiana, and Kentucky as well. I have been hunting off and on for well over thirty years, and am finding this site to be very enjoyable.

Welcome Tracker! This site is the best.

Thanks Doc. I believe you. I've glanced at a few others, even signed up on one, but after finding this one I haven't gone back.

Hola, my name is Chris and I'm fairly new to metal detecting. Finding a lot of great stuff here in Germany using my AT Pro.

Jeff From Hickory NC. thanks for letting me be part of this page,

Craig from Columbia, SC. I'm new at this but I've been doing research on the KGC. I'm hoping to find any info about their activity here, as there isn't much available online. I did order "Confederate Gold" by Bob Brewer to help me get started, and I've been researching the KGC online. But if you know of any information regarding their presence in South Carolina, please share!!!

How common are KGC signs? Is it remotely possible to just go hiking in areas where you know that Civil War era roads or buildings existed, and actually run into some kind of pointer? Or is that like buying a lotto ticket? Is it more of a case of putting in hundreds of hours in the library before having a clue where to look? I enjoy research, but I also want to start going out in the field as soon as I can.

I guess the worst that would happen, would be that I get some exercise on some enjoyable day hikes, but never see any signs or pointers :oP

I look forward to picking your brains and reading your stories of treasure hunting! Is anyone on the trail of anything interesting at the moment?
