Hey Billy the first step is to figure out what your budget is for a machine. I jumped in with both feet and bought an expensive one. But I also waited a while to get it. So figure out a price range and we will give you some great recommendations. Just a heads up you will get addicted to this hobby! When you start finding good stuff you won't want to stop :-)Wats up all.. im new to all this...im from IL and lookin to start this hobby. Dont no anything about it like wat Detectors are good or any of that. I would luv to get some advice so I could start Huntin. THANKS
Billy your best bet is to do some research on the detectors in that price range and see what your options are. Then go onto the forum and look for the metal detecting section, from there you can click on individual brands and ask questions on there. There are a few guys on here that own metal detector stores and have very good reputations. I personally bought a Teknetics T2 SE but there are lots of great companies and lots of great machines. Good luckI was lookin to spend around $500*at the most for a detector. Im n Dupage county IL not sure where the best place is to buy one. So if anybody has some info id appreciate it.
