Hey All, Great site, tons of info for a newbie. I live in Middlesex county ,Va. I have a little over 10 acres, with about 4 acres cleared and the rest wooded. my home was built in 1922. After doing some reading it seemed like the Tesoro Compadre would be a good choice to get started in md . thanks for a great site. joe

I was a member about uhhh... 8 yrs or so back, forgot my info so I re-registered this morning.

Legally Blind now so can't do too much. Can't drive any more so I find folks in town who let me detect the yard. When the boys go fishing on the Wynooche I do a little panning. Have to use a Magnifier Headset to see what I have found :) Its a real bear trying to pinpoint with my detector , wish I could find my White's Pinpointer.

But it could be worse, might be totally blind instead of a 10% runnel in the left eye!

Glad to be back.

Hi I'm Jim from Pennsylvania. I used to have a couple whites about 10 years ago. I was side tracked as I wanted to learn more about photography so I could better photograph a site that was interesting when I came across it. I then got sidelined geocaching for the obvious, but also to learn the operation of a GPS, again to mark a site should I come across a intriguing site. I am now to the point were I am considering to get back into to metal detecting again. I am currently looking for a new metal detector ...possible a Garrett AT Gold....so any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am new to prospecting and treasure hunting, along with forums. I am a hobbiest prospector hoping to find a honey hole that might pay for my daughters college education and keep me busy.

My name is Adam, I live in northern Wisconsin. I just recently got into metal detecting after watching some exciting youtube videos. I'm swinging an AT Pro with the factory coil 8.5"x 11" DD and the 5"x8" DD is on its way. Can't wait for spring to try out some new locations I have mapped out.

I'm happy to have found this site and hope I can learn a lot.

Hi there fatty lor from St Paul MN, Im a newbie looking forward to learn from all of you....

36yr old disabled Army Vet. Doctor said I had to get out and be more active so I pulled out my vintage 1971 White's Coinmaster 6000/d Series 2 and started metal detecting again. I am saving money for a detector that can give me a good idea of what's down there and I'm considering the White's MX5. I did upgrade my old detector with a carbon fiber tall man rod which helped a lot since I am 6'2". Right now I find everything! I hope to fix that in a couple months. I am in Southern Oregon.
