Welcome to the site! Please post an introduction thread.

hello to everyone, im glad to join this forum, to network and socialize , plus hopefully to show videos of metal detecting or gold prospecting in kern county calif (scorpiotoyou ) youtube... formally im from northern calif. and prospected in the foothills of auburn, Foresthill , folsom , and the greater placer county area. I prospect for gold but have many other interests such as gems & fossil hunting as well. I would entertain and wish to get to know any one from kern county that has like similar interests to show me around. so I can get a better understanding of the area and regs.

Hello,
New member from western Illinois. Enjoy the site and the tips. Unfortunately went out today and ground is to frozen to dig. Pulled the batteries and waiting for spring.

I just now saw this Thread. I really like what I have seen here, friendly folks. Looking forward to learning and post finds. Good luck everyone.

Hello everyone! I hope I am posting this correctly. I am new to the site and pretty young at detecting. I have really taken to this hobby and will be glad to learn from you all. I have about a dozen hunt to my tiny experience and hope I can post something cool soon. If you hunt in the Birmingham area and would like to show a rookie the ropes, let me know...

Hello everyone,
I'm new to North Carolina after moving from Southern California. Last weekend I was able to 4x4 in N.C. gold country and it got me thinking about prospecting again.
Somehow, I ended up here where I might be able to gain some info. as far as regulations and locations. I have the "how to" part figured out at least.

Hey everyone. New to this site but not new to metal detecting. Been metal detecting now for 39 years. Just bought a new machine last Thursday. Too bad I wont get to use it for a while because we just got nearly a foot of snow yesterday. I live in southern Illinois so it will melt and i'll be out there!

Hi, I'm Austen from Maryland in the US.I'm young, so I haven't had the opportunity to detect for 39 yers, although I wish I had. I'm looking forward to using this site as I start finding stuff, as well as to seek advice from MDing veterans and find answers to my numerous questions.
Good luck and happy hunting!

Hi Folks! I'm about to purchase my first detector and haven't decided yet. I bought a 42' trawler that I'm living on currently in Marathon, Florida. Plan on exploring the Bahamas and the keys for a while and I'd love to hear your suggestions about where I might start. Underwater? Beaches? Marinas? I'm 63 now but in 1975 I answered an ad for divers placed by Mel Fisher. Talked to him personally on the phone. I'd just completed a 340 hour Commercial Diving course and I wanted to go but he wouldn't take my new wife so I passed. Shoulda passed on the new wife!

Hello I'm Erik from Manitoba Canada. I've recently gotten into metal detecting, and I'm looking forward to sharing my finds.

Hello ! I am a commercial diver / fabricator . 16/35 years experience . I don't have a TV so what I know about Bearing sea Gold is off the internet . I have a 35ft freefall lifeboat ( it can handel any type of weather ) that I want to turn into a dredge.I know nothing about them .The boat is Roughly 9 ft wide.I was thinking of adding 4x30 or 8x30ft. outriggers on each side . supported by encapsulated floats . Can anyone give me free advice on design and equipment needs. Since it is such a short season Prefer two identical dredges .working 24/7 . If one goes down we can use it for parts to keep the second one Running .If those morons on TV can do it ! why can't some stupid country Boy's from Texas do it ?......... It is just a matter of time before one of them dies from lack of ,or unsafe equipment and practices .That should make good ratings .

Hi, I hunt in small towns and old home sites in my home state of Tennessee. I have found coins,& civil war items. Hope to post photos of some items that are in question.........Thanks!!!!
