Want to try Dowsing?

I've been thinking of giving dowsing a shot the past few months....stumbled upon this thread... Seems to be a great wealth of info, thank you all for sharing.
Don't let the nay-sayers get under your skin,.....there are many many many things in this world that are inexplicable....many.. ..even in todays world of technology....so, needless to say, I'm a believer....thank u for the wisdom n keep on keepin on!

I believe Einstein is correct when he pointed to our nervous system and how it functions is what makes the rods in our hands turn. The rods are inanimate objects, have no brain, no intelligence and cannot and do not act on their own. He said:"I know.... The dowsing rod is a simple instrument which shows the reaction of the human nervous system to certain factors which are unknown to us at this time."


You pointed out that we can program our subconscious mind. Yes we can and I think that is a very important factor in dowsing. How to do that programming for dowsing accuracy is another subject. But I do think that such things as rod length, the materials they are made up of, and other things and physical maneuvers we do when dowsing, helps to dispel doubt, fear, and frustration from our minds. I have a friend who would like to dowse but is unable to. From just hearing him talk negatively and all, you can understand why he can not dowse. Another factor is how his wife gets on him by telling him he is crazy, stupid etc to even try. If you say you can't, you are right. You can't. But if you say you can, you probably can. He is actually convinced that he cannot dowse, so he doesn't.


Children tend to pick up on dowsing faster than adults and I am sure the reason why is the mind of a child is not cluttered up with all the negative thoughts, doubts, and stuff adults are bogged down with. In short, the child is not confused by all the so called facts.


My grandson one time hurt his hand while playing. I told him that when I blow on his hand, the pain would go away. He said: OK. So I blew on his hand, he stopped crying and went out to continue playing. Now an adult would say: “You are crazy, you are a quack. Simply blowing on my hand won't stop the pain. Stop this nonsense and get me an aspirin!” In short, I was able to program my Grandson's mind and his pain stopped.


Keeping in mind that all things on earth give off energy in one intensity or another, here is part of an article, and the web address on how sensitive the human nervous system is to Radio Frequencies (RF) and the Electromagnetic field (EMF) forces and energy. I firmly believe our nervous systems have the capability of sensing these energies, be them ever so weak, and are amplified by our brain which controls hand movement that moves the rods. The challenge remains for us to find a way or ways to “fine tune” our senses to be more sensitive to frequencies of targets in the ground when dowsing.

I have only studied Driver handbooks in 2 different states...There was page after page on reaction times...these have disappeared over the years...When you see something happen your brain knows what to do...You don’t have to think about it as your brain has already been trained...Trained or taught Ideomortor responses....Art

Sorry that you thought you were a Dowser for 20 years...Most people can realize that it does not work for them real fast. Or was it when the LRL’s were invented and your Dowsing Rod business went to pot?

Well I can tell you that 20 years ago a water well witcher showed me how to witch for water with bent coat hangers as dowsing rods. He said that some people can do it and some can't. In fact, my wife, daughter and one son could not get the dowsing rods to work. Only my oldest son and I could use the dowsing rods. I always figured it had something to do with electricity in the body and positive and negative electrical charges in the ground affected by ground water. A few years back I was diagnosed with A Fib or atrial fibrillation which is a condition in which the upper chamber of the heart does not pump blood properly but flutters (Fast heart rate). It apparently is caused by stray electrical current in the body that interrupt electrical pulses that cause the heart to pump. In my case, doctors performed a surgical procedure whereas they burned my heart blood vessels to create scar tissue to interrupt the flow of stray current in my vessels which was interrupting my normal heart rhythm. Unfortunately, the procedure did not stop my A Fib, and I now have a pacemaker and take medication to control it. The point I am trying to get at is that I suspect but have no proof that there is a connection between the presence of electrical current in the body and ability to dowse. For some of us the stray electrical current in the body also causes the condition known as A Fib. This does not mean that everyone who can dowse will have A Fib. By the way, I can still witch for water or at least have the rods cross when witching. I do wonder how many dowsers have A Fib like me which does make you tired, weak and possibly dizzy. I also wonder if dowsing could somehow cause the electrical current to trigger A Fib if you have that condition and are not being treated for it. I don' mean to worry anyone, but ....If someone gets tired after dowsing, check the pulse. An extremely fast heart rate is a pretty good clue. When I would go into A Fib, my pulse was so fast, I could not count the beats. Physical exertion can also trigger A Fib if you have the condition and are not being treated for it. Those who dowse, do a lot of walking so that could explain the tiredness too. I am not a doctor and I am not diagnosing a medical condition or giving medical advice. My recommendation to anyone would be to seek a doctor's medical opinion if you suspect a problem.

Hey WVPapaw....I have A-Fib....The Doctors killed some of my Electrodes in my heart and put me on Rythmol....No more attacks....Years later I had a stroke...Dowsing would not work...They cleaned my Arteries then I had pain in the back of my head...they said that a gland had started working again. I could dowse again...My problem was a slow heart rate (30 beats a minute)...When I am standing on a signal line and raise one foot the rods will open just like I just closed an electrical connection. So I think that it is all Electrical...I know that my body collects static electricity more than others. I have 120 mil-volts between my hands...Art

I had similar issue. They called it tacky- Brady. Slow heart rate ...35 beats per second until I exerted myself and then a high rate if I went into A Fib. Problem was that low side got so low, I had to have pacemaker. They treat the high side with meds like they do you. The ablation procedure did not correct A fib for me. Actually they thought it did at first, but it went crazy later. Anyway the electricity is still there because I still have A Fib when they take away the meds to do a stress test. I agree with you that it all has to with electricity. I guess I will be able to dowse until the electricity stops if our theory is correct. My problem is that I don't know how to dowse for treasure. I will have to research that technique. It can't be much different than dowsing for water.

Ok, i will put in my take on dowsing. I believe it does work. Now that being said, how does it work ?

It's a form of divination. Using the spirits to guide you to gold, water, whatever. These spirits are demonic entities that will attach themselves to the user, and as the user becomes more proficient and confident results may improve.

No different than holding a crystal on a string over a map and waiting for it to swing. Or a quiji board and asking it questions. These things do work, but at what cost to the user. I will not use such devices. Spirit guides are not your friends, and nothing will induce me to play with them.
When you invite these demonic spirits into your life, even unintentionally, they develop an attachment to you and are reluctant to leave.
They know events in the past very well, but the future is their weakness. They can't tell you the winning lotto numbers, although many people try to use them for this purpose. Even asking them for something they can't do makes no difference to them because what they want is your invitation. They want access to you.
And yes, it's an energy, a life force.
There's even a biblical warning about divination.

I went out detecting today but not before dowsing a map of the area which to my surprise verified there were areas with coins and silver. I dowsed the map with my L rods and with a pendulum That I made from a neck strap and a big cotter pin. Both tools showed the same results so far as locations to hunt. My detecting buddy and I picked the location that dowsing showed had the most targets or strongest signals. We got quite a few coins and one silver dime right where we expected. It made a believer out of me for sure. My detecting buddy said I looked pretty weird carrying my dowsing rods in a PVC pipe holder on a string and the pendulum on a neck strap hanging around my neck. He said I looked like a voodoo man. He joked about the dowsing, but was amazed by our results. Anyway, thanks to all treasure net members who gave advice on dowsing.
