Treasure Marks/Signs - Diagnosed Here

Shiloh,
Just curious, what kind of tree is it? The area of the US that you are in? Any interesting history to the area? *kind of a dumb question, as North America has a hidden history that is for some reason, concealed.

Hey everyone,

Good tidings, hope all is well in the THing community.
I have came across one of the darndest monuments I have ever seen. It is on the top of a knoll, and is not meant to be seen at a distance. The rocks have been carried for quite a ways,1/2 mile. They are not stacked, but placed on the flat ground, only to be seen if you are on them. The strange thing is, these rocks are heavy, and have a diameter of 30 feet across. Like I said, the are just placed to not be seen by any passers by, only by knowing they are there. In the center, for lack of better words, is a gotcha rock. It is white, while the other stones are black.
I was told by a gentleman that has long since passed, (he related his story to me in the early 1980's, while he was in his ninties), that he came across a similar monument in his area that befuddled him for decades. When all else failed, he dug under the gotcha rock, and came across a stash. (I am not at liberty to say what he found, only that I was able to verify he did find some stuff). Anyone on this thread with any input? I absolutely will not tear apart a monument as too much information is left in them....just curious.

Hey guys! check this out! Followed some markers to a rock that had cracks in it, and looked out together like a volley ball. It had a triangle with a dot in the middle. So I put my shovel in one of the cracks and opened it up and this is what was inside. Must have been perfect timing for shadows and all. It has to be something important (or why was it hidden) so if you know how to read these rock maps let me know!

The tree is a postoak, I am located in the SW part of the US, I think there was some KGC activity in the area. thanks Pebble

Hi Bonuntr. Was the stash modern or ancient. Also, are there any trees in the area? If not, the white rock in the center might have taken the place of a tree or large wooden post. If it's ancient, it could be a religious site and the white rock is where the offering was placed.

Hello Rangler. I've not been getting much feedback on my thread, and noticed you have an open invitation for analysis, so I thought I'd post an image here and see if I can gather any feedback. I've read a lot about turtles, but it seems they can mean, and be used, for multiple things. This is a turtle I found off an old stagecoach road. Spanish had missions in the area (20-40 miles were multiple). Although I have a few photos from the area, this turtle just screams at me. Any opinions on whether it appears Spanish or newer? Next steps I should take with it? Any feedback would be appreciated.

mdog,
The stash that he found was what I consider on the cusp of ancient. The only thing that he shared with me, and that I personally seen was a silver trinket that may have been spanish in origin. He did tell me that he found no gold, only a few minute pieces of what he believed to be silver. I wish I had photographed the piece, as it looked Jesuit to me at the time, but my memory has faded, and I don't want to imagine something that wasn't there. He has since passed, and upon asking his only living child, (daughter), about the pieces, she knew nothing of them. That is not unusual if you knew thier family. He was retired military, and had seen action in the Japanese theater, as well as in Korea. I do know that my father had told me that the man was a prisoner of war during WWII.

There are very few trees in the area, one or two junipers per acre, and a lot of very low, (less than 3 inch tall), brush of undertemined species. I believe he found them in the same area that I found the monument I am looking in to....I will say that it is in the far north western part of Utah, and north of Wendover Nevada approx. 65 miles. Why I am so clueless, is that the Jesuits supposedly never made it into that part of the country. (although I may disagree with that, there is, at this time no proof). I can say that it is in one helluva desolate place, on the western side of the Great Salt Lake.

I am a believer that a once great society lived in parts of Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, and when the spanish arrived they recieved help,(or tortured), the natives in to telling them where the ancient treasures were stashed, and hence, melted them in to bars or what have you.....No proof, just a guy and his imagination...

Hi Rock. Sdcfia has posted a link that presents a theory that Mound Builders from the Mississippi Valley, close to St. Louis, might have left that area and moved to the southwest and eventually into Mexico. Here's the link.

From the Mississippi to Mexico -- The Great Migration of the Aztecs!

The reason I asked you if there were any trees around is because archeologists, who have excavated around Cahokia, have found evidence that tall posts were erected on the top of mounds. The thought is that the posts on the mounds might have been sacred sites and the posts were representative of some spiritual being they worshiped. If the area you describe doesn't have any tall trees or high mounds to create a sacred spot, then they might have used the black rocks to form a circle, that would represent the top of a mound, and the white rock, in the center of the circle, to represent the tall post. These spots would be at a village site or constructed at intervals along a trail. If your friend had a similar spot close to the one you've found, you might be able to find a trail and determine the direction it's going and where it came from.

It would be nice to know what the trinket looked like, but the small pieces of silver remind me of something Dog The Treasure Hunter posted. I believe he found small offering type pieces of stone right by what he thought was a sacred site. I hope I'm right about that. Dog lives in New Mexico.

I'm curious to know if you think those two spots might be along a trail and if you can guess where the trail came from and where it might have been heading.

Rick

Something I forgot to post, Rock, is that the small offering would have been buried right by the post, but anything big, would have been buried somewhere on the mound.

Hey Rock. Do you remember what it was, about the silver trinket, that made you think it was Spanish? Thanks for posting about your site.

Hi TNet...have these photos of photos of a place I'm rock hounding. Never noticed the obvious signs around until I started reading here a couple months ago. First pic is the whole scene, looking west/southwest, with a fish straight down at feet. 2nd pic of Eagle, with something in mouth possibly. 3rd pic is of a bear head, 4th pic is what looks like a rear view of a tortoise. Last pic is the exact opposite direction the first pic, open lion mouth??? Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated. Your pics aren't working for me.
You'd probably get more attention if you start your own thread.

here are two pictures i took and wondered what you guys on this site thought of them, these are from the southwest, in northern NM area

Hi all
I really am not very good at doing stuff on here so instead of posting my sketches and explanations I will ask if some of you are willing, please go to WHAT IS IT? and find ROCK TRAIL MARKERS. The first few posts of the sketches are not correct, only the last one is correct. Also I posted under sandy1's GUIDE TO VAULT TREASURE HUNTING somewhere around page 99. Hopefully, some of you will have info that I can use.
Thanks

Hi all. Is it "taps" for my "last post"? nobody seems to be talking. Did I do something wrong?

I have 44 pictures from the site I am searching and hand drawn maps, drawn by me. Some of the pics are of the surrounding area and not necessarily related to the site. For eg. the 1 called face is some distance away and I can find no other markers in the area.

I suppose I could send them here but it's a lot of information and lots of megabytes. There are no marks or carvings except maybe some of the rock chiseled to shape, like the triangles. All but 1 rock (the 1 called face) are lava, making them hard to chisel. I wonder if it would be better if I sent them to someone by way of email or PM and then let that kind person post them for me as I will no doubt mess it up if I try.

Any help with this will be appreciated.

Anybody have any thoughts on these? My mind instantly went to "code". Anybody else think the same thing?treasure1.jpgtreasure2.jpgtreasure3.jpg

I am trying to attach a folder. On Posting Permissions it says "You may post attachments" but I do not know how. I cannot find the famous paperclip which I thought would be above this message area. even my librarian friend could not figure it out. Somebody tell me how to do this, please.

The attachment I want to send is 44 pictures and several maps that I have drawn. There are two copies of the pictures, one as is, the other, some are circled to identify certain things about them. I have already sent some of the maps to another thread but because of the size problem they are almost unreadable. If I can send them all as an attachment then they can be opened in a larger and more readable format--I hope.

I know that if I email them to individuals they can be viewed and analyzed very easily but this will limit them to only those willing to send me their email address by PM. I will do this if any of you will send your email address and maybe after you get it you can figure how to attach them for others.

If you are like me perhaps you are not excited about giving out your email address to just anyone, so do what I have done. Go to gmail and create a new email address that you can use only for dummies like me, etc. I know most of you already understand this simple trick and many have maybe done it but for those who did not think of it in my case, please give it some consideration.

I am including a quote that I wrote from another thread because I want you to understand my situation. I am not looking for sympathy. I am so close, perhaps within less than 100 yards of the goodies. I have covered the entire area and there is no evidence of an empty hole. Many of the markers are not over 100 years old, I think, because they are small enough to be in the category of "If you can kick it and move it, it is not a marker", some are small and some are too big for less than four or more people to move. So someone re-marked the trail at some time but there is no evidence of anyone watching things. The reason the trail would need to be re-marked is that for a long time firewood cutting was going on in the area and possibly many marks disappeared or were damaged or moved.

I am rambling. Sorry.

Here is the quote.

I generally don’t let things offend me however if I did I would find it offensive to be called a “follower” of sandy1. I will say however, I think those who call us that are very out of touch with reality. I have three very large book cases containing somewhere around 300 to 400 books. There is not even one fiction among them. I don’t have time for fiction. I am too busy filling my brain with useful information. I do not have a television nor do I watch movies. My library is scientific, technical, medical and religious books. I find a lot of entertainment in real world stuff. Sometimes several of the books are by the same author. Much of the information I consider correct; does this mean I am a “follower” of that author? Certainly not, even though I will defend the author(s) and what they say. I do not believe everything in all of my books; even scientists can be wrong (blasphemy on my part, I’m sure).
Real world
I am 70 and in very poor health. My “golden years” were stolen from me as well as many of my generation by corrupt government officials and bureaucrats. I have paid into my retirement fund, Social Security, since I was twelve but at least seven times (I am told, please don’t ask me for proof, you can look it up as easily as I can) someone decided we didn’t need all that money and used it elsewhere. SS is not a tax, it is a retirement fund and there would be plenty without using what is being put in by younger folks if it had been left alone. This is like the bank deciding that you will not need all the money you put into your savings account so it is taken out and given to the bank officials to spend how they wish.
Did you know, federal employees do not pay into Social Security? They have a different retirement plan that never has money taken out for other purposes. Ain’t that jist dandy?
I used to like hiking in the hills and deserts but now I do it out of necessity. I have had to return to my old occupations such as pouring concrete to try to survive. When I go hiking I take lots of pain med before and after to get through it, as I do every day I work. I am not looking for sympathy but I wish to maybe silence those who only want to waste our time with their fault- finding instead of adding information that I and many others are looking for.
Loss of freedom
We have lost far more freedom than most people realize. I am a member of the GPAA and I am very familiar with the freedoms we as prospectors have lost. They (the corrupt officials and bureaucrats) want all of the gold, not just antiquities. (Now, I consider myself a patriotic American. I do not like it when I see people wearing shirts, hats and so forth that look like the American flag. Take time to read the protocol for the American flag, you’re not too busy. I was on flag duty in elementary school and learned all that stuff.) It is not the “government” or America; it is corrupt officials, both elected and appointed, as well as bureaucrats. Remember $400 hammers, $600 toilet seats and $37 (each) screws. Some pockets got lined on those deals and the American taxpayers paid the bill.
My son saw a sign that read:
“YOUR PUBLIC LANDS
MANAGED BY
THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT NO TRESPASSING”

My search for treasure
One day I had a “gut feeling” as I drove past a certain area. I decided to explore the area.. It took several weeks before I found the clues. There were no symbols or markings, just “stand-alone” rocks. I went to T-net hoping to find information and found sandy1and his so-called “followers”. No one else had answers. Considering the situation, the naysayers have given me no clues but sandy1 and his so-called “followers” certainly have. When I can afford to go back I will be looking for turtles, rabbits, eagles, owls, shaft signs, etc.
So, naysayers, tell me what I should be looking for instead.
Call me greedy if you wish, I am being forced to explore because of corruption in high places. Many of my generation are in like circumstances and I intend to help as many as I can. I bet I can do it too without starting a “cult” or gaining “followers”. Anyone willing to help me please go to WHAT IS IT? and look for ROCK TRAIL MARKERS. Any help or assistance in my greedy pursuit would be very welcome.
Finally, sandy1 and all the rest of you “followers” (ha, ha, ha) thank you for your valuable information. It is stored in my non-fiction e-library for ready reference.
Bye for now.

And thank all of you on Diagnosed for the valuable info you have provided. I cannot help but wonder how many older folks are doing it for the same reason I am.

Done rambling.
Thanks all.
