Treasure Expo 2007

Morning Peg Leg...

Sorry I've been out of touch for a short while. Working 12 to 14 hours a day, so I'm pretty beat when I get home.

I just wanted to say that you have done an amazing job bringing your dream to a reality. This is such a huge undertaking. I wish I could be closer to help with some of the logistics. A long trip from southern Maine and this is the busiest time of year for me... seven days a week right now.

I just put a check in the mail for you. I put an extra $25.00 in it so I could purchase a T-shirt (XXL) and to cover shipping. I want to make sure that I have one so that I can wear it to the show. If the T-shirt deal falls through, just keep the extra money and put it towards the show...

or at least towards the "bar tab" ;)

Thanks again for all that you have done to make this show a reality. I'm sure it will be a big hit this year and for years to come.

Most sincerely,

Wayne

Morning Peg Leg,
Wayne is right. This could be HUGE! Did you ever think about making this an annual event?

My friends I still need several people to DISPLAY their treasure regardless of what it maybe.

I am going to have a DISPLAY showing a few Ship Models with one being over 4 feet long and over 4 feet high.
I will also display a few pieces of silver along with a few silver nails and a silver bar and a few pieces of AIS Indian pottery shards. Nothing fancy but interestring never the less. I also have a piece of metal encrusted with coral from a shipwreck off the Cape. THIS IS A FACT.

I went through my box of STUFF and I came across a few Gem Stones that I thought would be interesting.
One is a solid Black Sapphire that weighs about 1,200 carats and the other is a Sapphire that weighs over 2,000 carats. Both are Natural and have not been treated in anyway. In fact the Large one has not been touched in anyway and still retains a layer of material that will not allow you to see what color it will be when polished. It is still the same as when I recovered it. I use to use it as a paper weight. Some day I will have it cut and polished just to see what is inside. I did have it X-RAYED and there are NO cracks or flaws anywhere.
Do not know if this can be classed as Treasure or not. But why not.
Peg Leg

Well everyone time is getting shorter by the day before the EXPO is here.
There are still a few problems to be ironed out but I am working on them as hard as I can go.

WHAT I NEED
IS FOR THOSE THAT PLAN TO DO A DISPLAY TO SEND ME AN EMAIL.
YOUR CAN PAY THE $10.00 WHEN YOU GET HERE.

THINGS HAVE CHANGED A LITTLE BECAUSE OF THE DATE CHANGE.
ALL I AM LOOKING FOR IS COMFORMATION.

THANKS EVERYONE.

ATTENTION EVERYONE:
I have decided to donate 10% of all the money collected from Space Rental, T-Shirt sales , Raffle ticket sales and Gate Receipts to the DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL FLORIDA.
I have a 16 month old Grandson that has DOWN SYNDROME. He will be the Poster Child.
I am also approching Retail stores like WAL-MART for donations of GIFT CERTIFICATES to be given away as Door Prizes.
ALSO any donations that I receive or have received 10% will go to this ASSOIATION.
I am in the process of printing 1,000 posters to be placed at locations throughout Brevard County.
Any you thought I was not busy ::) ::) ;D.

Peg Leg,
If you set it up as a non-profit event, and file the necessary 501c-3 Corp, Wal-mart will match the proceeds up to $1,000. The Down Syndrome Foundation may allow you to use their filing. Great Idea! Good Luck!

Hi Peg...

Just thought I would drop you a line to say hello and double check to make sure that you got my check for the EXPO. I hope things are going well and that the check helped to make the T-shirts a reality. Hope to meet you at the Expo, but the change in the dates made things a bit difficult for me. I understand the logistics, but I had locked in the August dates to guarantee the time off and now I am at the mercy of the company....

I'll certainly try my best to get down, but if I can't, you still have my donation and I hope that you enjoy great success with the show. Hope to meet you,

WAYNE

Wayne,
Yes I received your check and THANKS.
SORRY about the date change but I had nothing to do with this.
I could have changed it to Sept but it still ment a date change.
I sure hope you can make it.
Peg Leg

Great news:
Robert Westrick has agreed to give 2 seminars on the 28th along with a display of artifacts.
Carl Moreland will not be at the EXPO do to other plans for that date which could not be changed.

THINGS ARE REALLY STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE.

Thanks for posting this artifact.
This was recovered from the beach almost due west from where there is NO SHIPWRECK (so I am told). However I know better.
The coral encrusted metal is about 8 inchs long x 3 inches wide.
The metal strip is less than 1/16" thick.
I had it X-Rayed and found that there is a round hole in the metal and the coral is joined at this location.
I have no idea what is was or is but a NASA person said that he thought that is was between 200 and 300 years old.
I plan on showing it at the EXPO.
ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS?
Peg Leg

For those that want to see METAL CORAL SEND ME A MESSAGE AND I WILL SEND YOU A SCAN PHOTO.
I ALSO HAVE A FEW PHOTOS OF A MODEL SAILING SHIP THAT WAS MADE IN JAPAN IN THE LATE 40,S.
DIFFERENT TO SAY THE LEAST AND IT HAS 6 CANNONS AND A VERY DIFFERENT FLAG.
Last but not least I have photos of the SILVER NAILS EMBEDDED IN VERY OLD WOOD FROM THE SEA. In fact you can see the worm holes in the wood (mollusk)
They were NOT found this way. SEAHUNTER gve me some wood that he had recovered from his site and I drove the nails into the wood myself. It turned out really great.
EVERYTHING mentioned above will be on display alone with some other items at the EXPO.
More Later

SWR,
No there has not been any NATIONAL ADVERTISING.
Next Year why don't you give it a try, if you have plenty of MONEY that is.
Advertising is VERY COSTLY and to be honest I still expect no less than 4,000 people to attend this EXPO and that is big enough for one person to handle.
If you get tired of reading about this event then I suggest that you stop reading.
HELL this started off as a get-together but has grown into something MUCH bigger than that.
By the way SWR I understand that you DO NOT plan on coming anyway so why ask questions?
Peg Leg

If there is one person in the entire world that if I could BARE from this EXPO it would be YOU.
But EVERYONE is invited INCLUDING YOU.
But I will make this STATEMENT for ALL to read and understand including you.
IF ANYONE STARTS ANY CRAP THEY WILL BE ESCORTED FROM THE PROPERTY.
I for ONE am sick and tired of you not having anything POSATIVE to say about ANYTHING I do or try to do.
I am going to PUT YOU BACK ON INGORE
