I've plotted out a line on the arrowhead's compass line. Also, that does look like a bear's head to me. I've circled a dog's head under the bear's jaw. That large boulder on the right looks like a mushroom to me. Consider this, bears live / hibernate in cave openings; dogs have been used to hunt bears for hundreds of years so where do bears run to escape dogs? Mushrooms are grown in large caves. Is that arrowhead pointing to a possible cave opening on an elevated portion of that cliff in the background? Are these points too convenient??.................................could be.

I'm editing this because I just saw some more things on that mushroom rock. There's a heart; a triangle; a letter "T"; and 2 notches just above the "T" that might be confirmation marks.




I just figured out how to change an attached photo. I'm so PROUUUUUUUUD. LOL

The only thing you see that I think is wrong is the little heart on the mushroom rock. I think it is a green leaf with some green blades that is showing up....but I will check it out and get back to you.

I believe you are right about that small "heart". It does look like a plant, but it must be a single one. I looked around the area and found no others. At first I thought it could be one of those thorny vines like grow here in Mississippi, but there are no other leaves in the photo, so it isn't that plant. I might be a wild caladium or sweet potato vine, just starting out.

the bear is looking at the ground in the circle, the heart is pointing to the spot, the eye is looking in that direction. There is a depression in that area, you should see if there is anything there, or if there was something there at one time.

Thanks for the input....there is no reaction from any of our metal detectors on that spot...does not mean there might not be a buried rock s/s in the ground, but right now we are not digging unless there is a M/D signal or a "dig sign".

From the angle of your photo, that rock looks pretty rounded to be a heart and the notches pretty straight sided. Could that be another trail indicator?
I'm not trying to second guess you, since YOU are the one in the field. Just going by how that one pix looks.

When the shadows are right, looks like the eye behind the heart will turn into a mushroom and the stem will point down at the heart rock.

Well Shortstack I have definitely been wrong before and will be again. It also reminds me of "pac-man" on one of those first computer games 25 or so years ago. Could be a pie with a piece missing? Either way it's still a directional, I think. Also the heart shape as we think of it (valentine heart) has not been around all that long. The Aztec's, Mayan's, Toltec's, Mextic's or whoever prior to the Spanish drew it more apple shaped with the stem on it. (artery and more like a true life like heart) None of Kenworthy's hearts on a Spanish trail were exactly pointed with nice rounded lobes on top?

The shadow stem never lines up in the center at any time of the year....that might also mean to go to the left? Thanks for the input.

ODDROCK, in the pic with the arrow head pointing up and to the right you also have a small bow as in bow and arrow that would shoot an arrow up and to the left. It's the small heart that's circled. Connect the lines up there if you haven't already. I think youv'e worked your site pretty well. RH2

if the bell is nearby, i wonder what else is on the bell rock if any thing.

Are there any rectangular slabs back there and what does the flat ground look like.

I know i saw a triangle on those rocks can't find it now.


Was wondering if water is near by..spring or river.

There very well could have been something in front of the mushroom rock...that all seeing "eye" has me puzzled..do not know the meaning of it.

In the large circle with the eye (or shroom top ) I also see a face looking past your right side . It also seems to have a lion beside the face. In the small circle there might be a face looking at the ground. Could this indicate the trail out ? Could there be some sign low to or flat with the ground behind you ?

I do have 3 of KW's books, been thru'm front and back, upside down....even held the pages up to the sun light for a different perpesptive. I have read so many books that I sometimes forget which one a particular thing was in. Getting older is not Getting easier. I believe I am not dealing with a strickly Spanish Trail. There is water(plenty) nearby.

There is one black triangle on the right most side of that mushroom rock, close to the ground. It is in the middle of a lighter shaded area of the rock that is ALSO triangular in shape. I circled it in my mark-up.

I played with your photo a little bit and that King on the left sort of jumped out at me, but I can't figure out who or what his companion is. Is it a cross or a thunderbird type figure?
