Too Hot to Dig...

Okay..thanks mucho :) oh i did not mean that was the spot..just if they were enticing you to think it was.

Sorry for the belated reply...been busy on location. Several years ago I would have thought that I should dig below the cracked heart. (the theory of the heart being a bow pulled back = direction, however the crack = a trap....) Hopefully they would leave a safer entrance...a heart w/o a crack I take as such. Hope this helps someone.

oddrock,
This heart does not have the tell tale sign of a true Spanish treasure heart, I will pm you that tiny bit
of data that makes all the difference.
A final tip for everyone..there is NO 'dig here' sign or mark...

Yes... well..sort coming to same conclusion..when there are so many "possibilities" in one small area..getting the idea a lot of them are false. or simply meant to distract and take time and possibly maim.

Hope your explorations are going well oddrock.

rangler,

Thank you very much for your perspective. In this case I must partially disagree with you. I have found a good many hearts, some marked...some not. Some upside down, some sideways, some cracked, some missing a lobe, .... some smaller version nearby,....even one small heart hoyo (used the o ending and not the a ha-ha).
I liked your longer post with good info for many, before you modified it.
I was not trying to imply that my last heart is a dig below here sign....just that there was an untrapped entrance nearby.
I envy anyone on a straight Spanish Trail when they were still playing by the Kings Rules.

Kim,

I have found way too many owls for all of them to the be key also. I think someone added some later on for more distraction.

I modified it because I thought the info was not completely correct. In all my experience, I have only found hearts that I thought were true Spanish, I pm'd you that detail. Others who I respect have found hearts of which your example is typical.... Also I haven't found, to my recollection any hearts used as trail makers. I have found angled hearts, and cracked hearts, but so far no upside
down hearts...and it seems they can be used as trail markers..the best thing to do is what I do, to prove them out one way or the other...that way you dont miss anything and you learn one more nuanced piece of the code.
After looking at your site a little more, I am now understanding why that heart is there.
very subtle, missed it the first half dozen times - got it late last night!
love those ah ha moments, even after all these years

oh when I posted that info on 'no dig here signs' it was for someone and everyone else, not you!

Thanks for the pm and all. This was one of the empty ones....just have to make sure it is as it appears....hate to miss something. :laughing9:

Be very careful of what you say. There's some around here who think I'm a little craaaaaaaaaaaazy. :laughing7: BIT has already put me on his "ignore" list. ::) It made me plum sick to my stomach, but then I passed a little gas and got instantly better.

When you read my comment on your other thread, you might think I'm seeing things, too. :laughing9:

I spent 10 days in the field before Thanks Giving. Came back and thought all you guys had been "beamed up" or something. :laughing9: Did not know I could miss these threads so much.

Brent,

This one is for you.

Wow, Oddrock. Looks like your hoyo is a duplicate of this bear. Except for the owl ears on the top of the hole.

Bill,

At this time I would suggest a hoyo with a similar shape visible is all the confirmation I need. The hoyo viewed from the other side is more "owl like".

cool. also looks like a turtle head in back ground on left side.

The head in the background appears to me to be more "snake like". :laughing9: but then I have seen the whole rock. I have not posted any pics of it before. (know it is similar to one that I have...)

Yep, that's what I was saying...........in a round-about way. :icon_thumright:

All I see on the first page in the highlighted pic is a big BULLDOG head. Just me. NVRADAR
