Something else....on "hunted out"?
I ask meself....How long have detectors been around? And then....how long have people been losing things? Hunted out!? Hah!
Drive by a public green anything-the detecting world has been doing the same for 50 yrs.
Frost pushes finds around here, until the machine doesn't beep-there's keepers left to be found.
My only gold coin (From the UK 50BC Celtic Full Stater ) came from a spot that I and many others had hit.
Just on that day alone I had dug probably a dozen targets in a 20' x 20' area, and where I dug the gold I had dug 6 targets in a 3'x5' area.
Dig get up, start swinging, miss a 1" spot-there you go a left piece to be found later.

Hmmmmm !! Wonder what a banged up sea salvaged one goes for ?? Especially with the provenance of being from a galleon in the 1733 fleet !!! Woooo hooo !! Screenshot_20200614-092506_Chrome.jpg

Bart,

Looks like you hit the jackpot on that coin ,with the provenance, even in beat up condition you should be able to get a 1/3 of that price!

20200614_111759.jpg still working on it bill....shes got a nasty iron stain but what a jewlrey piece this would make

I'm outta here....got to go back right now...I cant contain myself.

Bart,

Where's our buddy Tom the restorer when you need him. He'd have the best method for cleaning up that staining without degrading the condition.

Wowza it's cleaning up well bart. Best of luck on the return hunt-I would be there if I was in your shoes.

It’s looking real good Bart! See, treasure comes to you, you treasure magnet you! Awesome!:headbang:

There is treasure out there every where, even tot lots holds some nice goodies. Especially if the grandkids took that old rare coin grampa gave them and it slips out of a pocket and buries it’s self in the wood chips....just say’n :icon_scratch::laughing7:

Well......speaking of treasure. Here's something I find rather apropos:
