Both. My kitchen island is stacked with plastic containers I plan on using to organize with. car is still got "treasures" in it. And, yea, it's Monday. Got to go to work. One of those "treasures" is a government form for a lost immigration card. It has my Polish grandfather's signature. I never saw anything with his handwriting before. I know, I'm a weirdo. :tongue3:

That's Purdy interesting.i don't know if I ever saw either of my grandfather's hand writing. Only one he had his name on the hand plane I inherited

March 1696.....every is anchored at royal island....4 crew members take a letter to gov. Traut 50 miles away in Nassau ! History doesn't say what the fancy did at royal island during its brief stay there. History doesn't say what was there at the time of everys stay either. I always wondered why he chose royal island....would a pirate of this caliber possibly leave an insurance stash of treasure here ? Would some pirates have chosen to stay with there cut for safety reasons ? I've never herd a story that treasure was there....but just the presence of everys flagship the "fancy" being anchored there makes me want to explore it thoroughly !! I dont think he stopped here for any other reason except to leave treasure with sympathetic friends....or to hide some treasure incase of a bad reception in Nassau by governor traut !!

I went outside half an hour ago to take pictures of turkeys, and when I was done, I walked back to the house. I heard rustling by the garage, so I went to go see if it was my cat. Out walks this massive pit bull mix of some kind, and it's staring me down, with a guttural growl. What am I supposed to do, take it's picture? So I walked inside the garage keeping my eye on it as I did, and grabbed a machete for protection, and then went to the house. My dad went outside with a .22 to see if he could find it. It turns out, that its tracks were in my tracks when I was walking to where the turkeys were. They left my tracks before I got to the point where I sat down at the edge of the logging road. That's pretty scary, knowing you have a pit bull that size stalking you.

Yesterdays adventure netted me some wheat pennies 1920,1930,1948...Geo dog got a little crazy and ran towards a creeks my buddy said he seen a big cat, which is odd since we dont have big wild cats in our area....Lynx? Cougar? there are stories of these cats but nothing official...

We get wanderers in Mi.
The D.N.R. does not like to encourage thoughts of any breeding pairs , and so we here of no evidence of such....
We certainly have some large bobcats.
Cougars get reported with skepticism to follow , yet exist at times.

Somewhere in the haze behind the cobwebs is/was an account read of a pirate /pirates doing "business" with governors.
Goods from captured ships being gifted and of course sold/bartered.
Fine cloth or clothing for example.

My take on it was that when all parties benefited , a somewhat safe port and reception had value. Besides getting rid of cargo's that were bulky ,identifiable from manifests , or were of low value to the pirates.

One account made it seem like entertainment for folks to see and perhaps bid on exotic goods.
Were any governors more involved , and playing the part of "fences" for stolen loot of high value?
Or simply allowing others in the community to fill that role ,if such was sought?
It may be that the bigger transactions were done elsewhere ,at least on occasion to reduce attention to safer havens.

The old account did make it seem there were places certain pirates were well received.
Much more formal in their behavior than the stereotypes often assigned to pirates. More a case of fitting in well with the upper crust at functions and transactions.

Relevant, excellent bullet thoughts. You can bet, since people were involved, you are probably spot on.

It looks like Blak Bart has quite the hunt a brewing.

Blak, were with you.

So the thing came back. It's obviously diseased, and past any help. But my mom and dad (stupid stupid stupid!) decided to wait for animal control to take care of it. They gave it food and water, and managed to get it into a pen. I voted for the death option. So the dang thing escapes, pees on everything and vanishes into the woods. It'll only come back again because they FED IT! Animal Control arrived, and the officer says "if you see it, shoot it". Can I say I told you so?????

Might want to disinfect what you can , not knowing what it has. The feed dishes especially.
Isolate the body from further dispersal of what it may have , should it come into your possession... Then check site periodically for scavengers digging it up...

Peeing repeatedly on deliberate targets is sign post marking. The dog will return to communicate further ,if possible.

Good morning ldahodutch.

Morning Msbeepbeep. No Afternoon CST.

Good afternoon crew mates.
I keep sliding off the deck into the drink...not the rum kind.

Congrats all you treasure hunting/finding scallywags!!
Bart sounds like there maybe some really awesome finds in your future! :tchest:

Simon you don't need all that cleaning & scrubbing, a little dab of rum will do ya!

WD it is surprising how much "stuff" is collected in our life times. It's a big job sorting thru it all.

Rusty be careful you don't know what that dog has. At least you got a mug shot of him.

Hi there Rook!

It's hit or miss Rook. Some times I land on deck and some times... I'm bobbing in the water with my charging i-pad lighting up the place!
