That's about the best breakdown I've seen....it's a crazy business, and millions can be made🤫🤫🤫I've been unable to participate in this fantastic flurry of ambergris.....it seems the storms and king tides really moved it around this season....like I said ..... I know for sure a half million dollars worth have been found. I'm trying to raise funds for a future mission to the far out islands, and very remote camping missions.....it's intense exploration, adventure, and risk.....I too cannot delve into all of it....there are major secrets that give those who know them the edge !! It's easy for me here in the states, to move the ambergris to a high, dry, protected area of the island ..... then i can call foreign buyers who possess the proper customs forms to trade in it, and it can then be picked up by my buyer. One buyer posts page pics of his adventures to far out places to purchase ambergris. If you read that article, you can understand the trade secrets of "professional beachcombing" being guarded and kept secret !! This year I know of 511,000$ being found between a handful of hunters and middleman / brokers !! I have had my success in the past, and now I try and help my friends in the islands find it when I can't hunt.....I know exactly where to go, when, and how much to expect to find.....I'm saving funds now for air fare, lodging, fuel, water food tents packs, dogs, etc.etc. I now have some of this support, and logistics worked out, and now I'm in the saving for mission. There is a network, and many other treasures can be found....and that's as far as that goes....but your imagination will not suffice to understand what those possibilities can be.....it is off the charts, but really is off the charts crazy !! Treasure Hunting on steroids !!

Cup can be cooked in . One of the items for the kid's Christmas. Though not a kid anymore. I have a "corn boiler" for similar purpose.
Historic practice stuff for white canvas lodge use.
A hand forged grate for the fire. Hand forged double sided hook for over the ridge board in shelter.

That would be good for our camping.....i need jumbo size one for sads669....the little pieces of ambergris are from sads669 he is also training the dog now a little at a time....there is much not discussed in the article, because you would need the practical experience of hunting and tracking it.....things like spring, and king tides, Hurricanes, and whale migration patterns, and which islands to search....pigs can beat you to it, and islands that are pig and racoon free are better choices.....there's alot of strategy, and I need another sailboat for some real missions!!

I'll try not to think about beachcombing and scavenging...

Military surplus has cook gear now and then.
The pot for SADS would be my cheap speckled enamel cooking pot with bale and lid.

The U.S. canteen cup so many times cooked in have after market lids for them.
I prefer a lid to heat things under. And to keep more bugs out than not having a lid if something is stepped away from.
Rothco(?) brand lid isn't perfect for a cup I have. Not sure where I left off fitting it but I'm not a fan of such cups either. Not being a veteran.

Attached by hinge lids suit me too. Less divorces twixt lid and pot that way!
Watching a lids slow left right wobble on the way to the bottom if a shark or something doesn't clobber it first. Or a rock for a coffee pot cover.
Speaking of coffee pots for heating lunch.
A long ago co-worker would plug in the electric pot after adding water and set his full sealed can of soup in it till lunch.
I'd complain he left another price tag on when I made coffee but he kept doing it.

Pot like this.
Enameled fry pans sold in the camping cookware kits sucks though. Cups need leather wrapped handles so you can lift them to burn your lips.
Tin plates are better for scouring with sand. And blackened in fire they can show gold flecks. Maybe.
So just the pot and lid! And tell SADS to keep sand out of it.
It'll heat dishwater too after SADS eats his third meal of oatmeal for the day.

This last year I was talking to a tractor supplier/equipment/cash cropper.
Detecting came up
(Gee 🌶 one track mind)

Anyways he was telling me of this huge barn down by the silos. It held 250 Mares. All hooked up to funnels.
The urine was sold to Revlon and for hormone replacement Premarin.
He told me everything they plow there's bits of harnesses coming up.
Probably lots of buckles.
