I saw this burl hanging off a big limb 10yrs ago.
Tried a few times to get it, but being 50ft up it's not easy.
Today I drove the lift over, did some shoring to level it.
Got my burl finally.

Looking out into the dim glow of the yard light I see that a mole trap has gone “off”. A great start to the day.👍🏼🍀🪤

Well off to see if I can make some progress with the tree project.
Finally at the sugar shack area.
There are trees that were damaged during the 1998 ice storm.
Never thinned out, or properly managed.
So here is one example, what you see is 65 ft of tree left.
But the base is what concerned me over the past 10yrs.
Working in the sugar shack/walking on the trail past this tree.
The bottom 15ft wasn't in the greatest shape.
Going to cut that section off for a future project.

I'm not going to hold my breath expecting to see a stack of guitar bodies.
Could channel water though!
Or board the ends of a short piece as a trough that doesn't want to be cleaned , or...
