Congrats, lots of strong will. I'm glad you've done so well for yourself you're a wonderful person and deserve more than what things like that would offer. I myself have decided to quit drinking and haven't touched any in awhile. Also teaches you who are real friends and who isn't. Told a friend I was quiting instead of being happy for me I got questioned to why and for what. As far as my "friend" was concerned they were losing a drinking partner and cared only for that.

You can be my /our non puking alcohol friend JVA. We'll get over you not drinking it.

Dated picture. But I had so much fun out there the other day that I pounded a Mountain Dew after. (real sugar Mt. Dew.)
Survived intact after. No hangover.

Looks like a nice little spot, old farm implement I see there.

The harrow took two harrows to restore. Robbed at least one spring tooth off a similar harrow. (It shows the lichen growing on it that was not powerwashed like the rest of the harrow was.) Then still had to replace hardware and some of the well worn round spikes on the rear after freeing up or breaking old fasteners. Some that were at pivot points just too worn to expect much more use out of.
Then a good oiling.

Congratulations on even trying. I used to be a mean drunk and one day decided to quit. I’m now 12 years with no drinking and 15 years with just one time. You will be surprised as to how much better you feel. When shopping for groceries just avoid the isles with the beer. I do have to admit I can smell it on someone 5 feet away still to this day. If I feel like having a drink I go point hunting instead. Good luck

When you catch a double, and the bull gets loose in the china shop !! This 40 pounder took all I had and gave some back !! Duck or bleed, because shit is flyin...this fish had me stretched out, and didn't like our beautiful boat !! Blood actually flew into the cabin with the door open and everybody had to bail from the cockpit as he played out !! Wooo hoooo !! What a great trip we've had !!

Morning blossom That's a beautiful flower.

It has that floppy eared theme

Good morning folks...been up and down all night with nerve damage in my right arm.....always a battle with pain and numbness in my right arm and hand. Just the way it is after weeks of continuous fishing. The swelling will go down over a number of days after I settle back down from my trip....swinging the detector dosent help, but I push through it and grit my teeth and look forward to getting up so the pain stops. Swollen muscles in my shoulder, arm and hand restrict blood flow to my hand and fingers, and pinch nerves. Should be a few more days before I'm back to a full night sleep. If I sleep in a sitting position it helps. Well enough about my problems.....hope everyone is good and it feels great to be back on my normal schedule!!

God bless the pepper 🌶!! Great post my friend. I know I can relate, and probably many others here can too !! Congrats on 36 years of sobriety!!

Yes Sir , Mr. sober.

Not much is harder than stepping away from your demons.
Caused yourself to survive a good while longer though.
And you can still function. Simple math. Tell day from night. Comprehend what your detector is hinting. Remember to pick up the Mrs.. Don't step on a chicken.

Have a fantastic anniversary day knowin you scrappingly salvaged the last ones 36 ago as you segue into another year. It's a minority what fights that hard to break free; and stays free.

:coffee2:
Way to go PepperJ
Thank you all for your kind words, it's just a little of bit about me that I thought to share.

Wonderful marlin fishing trip for me is now officially over....leaving the Atlantis resort in Nassau bahamas. Will head past my home island of Andros, and then cross the great bahama bank. Then we will hit the Gulfstream and deep water and head the old girl to my other home island Key largo. We will take the third place trophy home, along with some treasure, and treasured memories !! Homeward bound, and ready to heal up from battling the big boys. Heavy tackle season is over for now. It was an epic season for me, and it hard to believe sometimes that there will be a big check waiting for me at home. Farewell for now Bahamas....I may return to treasure hunt in August.....my friends have permits now, and the future is bright 🌞 !!
Congrats on the win this year Bart, now there might be a tad bit of time to play with the coil?

Totaling up my finds now....didn't do great, but did find some cool stuff. Including spanish silver. Some neat shipwreck stuff too. Now it's time to raid the shallow water back here at home !!

I found a great survivors camp from a shipwreck.....bahamian found a beautiful baby spoon of 22 carat gold...I was not as lucky, but do have a new spot when I return. Shipwreck itself dates to 1925, but the ship was built earlier.....likely in the 1890s.
