Sherman left this church....he burnt the town around it. I found lots of melted metal.

It was a shockingly poor town.....there were hotels, gastations, diners, and homes here all abandoned!! I detected an abandoned hotel on 7 acres, and the owner offered it to me for 80 000 $.....I could have got it for 60 000$ I'm sure. The first town was burnt, and the second town built on top was abandoned. That hotel sits 50 yards from a marked historical site !!







An old timer told me to check every large tree in the area....he said historical pictures showed soldiers resting in the shade under every tree for miles. Other detectorists he knows has done well searching under them with coins, bullets, and gun parts !!

Unfortunately with such a short window this will have to be a long term project. I have secured and have people now trying to secure many more permissions. The best will be a 56 acre permission next to an actual battle site. IIhave over 1000 acres open to me now all around here, and to tell you the truth these folks could care less about what im doing. Hunting here is incredible, and I saw great deer from the tree stand every evening......the little porkers were out smarting me and eating all my corn at midnight, so i did not fire a shot.....never saw the little piggies!!

I searched a couple old houses.....share cropper homes that were abandoned and are left just how they were.....1920s construction here......there were giant bottle dumps here....stuff on top was 50s .... probably about the time it was abandoned. The absolute most trashey site I ever detected....it will take many hunts to get down to the good stuff....but....I did sneak a ring out of that crap.
