Ooohhhh uve made my day… i too am fascinated by this feature…. Alas its in a protected part of the area so we cant detect on it…. Its purpose is not clear from my research… but it could be some kind of Rabbit warren enclosure🤷‍♀️ thort to date to the time of the Abbey on the site….!! 🤔 xx

Supposed to be 51 degrees F. (11 C.) here today. Rare for February. I’m going to get my new simplex out and try again. So far: 1 rusty modern nail, a piece of wire and a rusted hunk of iron strap. Hopefully something a little cooler today. Not the fault of the machine; location, location, location!
