Hello Dirt Surfers.
Its going to be a good day. I got the print jobs completed yesterday in spite of 4 power interruptions. The winds were playing hell with the power lines. Yes. we had gusts over 50mph.
This morning I managed to get some optical equipment calibrated (after I used words I haven't used since boot camp). Some new gear coming in this afternoon. Maybe I can swing a coil this weekend.

@Pick_axe
Nice timing with that pic. !!
Thanks but its a stock photo. I have seen one blow up in my front yard years ago. Lit up the neighborhood. I thought the balloon went up.

Big fear of striking out on this civil war hunt......going up blind with just Google earth, battlefield maps, top secret town map from 1850, and only 1 400 acre permission. Really hoping to get to a certain county pull off under a bridge, and hoping our host can get some land access for us. Really not concerned about civil war, but there is this burnt town from Sherman, and more interesting is a Rev war skirmish site. Masonic lodge from Rev war was demolished and the wood used to build bridges over a certain river. I've done some killer home work, but not quite sure exactly if our 400 acres will have had activity there. We're gonna give it a try though.

400 acres is a lot of area. It should yield something. Good luck and keep us posted.👍

Good to know. I assumed (ya know what they say about that?) you went to New Orleans. I had no idea there were any other places that had Mardi Gras.
From New Orleans all along the Mississippi coast through Mobile and Baldwin counties in Alabama and into Pensacola in Florida all have their own celebrations.

good luck bart - i'd say the odds of you striking out are approximately 0 - and good morning all

Yeah.....it makes an ass outta you.

Mornin all.
Got iced after all.
Not too bad though.
Wheelchair doesn't crush through it and I wasn't quite awake when trying to shovel outside the door for the dogs and the shovel just skids atop the ice. L.o.l.

Bart : No fear!
You're going on a scout.
More may or may not become of it.

Bridge former spot sounds good. Concentrated activity of a group for a while. Where did the workers camp?
Certainly the burnt areas too. Trash and burned relics though...Maybe.
