They were covered in thick dust when I found them surprised they aren't in bad shape. Must of stayed dark enough to protect themNice John, thank you for those.
These are all awesome, JVA5th! I hope there are names on them. And/or you can identify your ancestors. I love the baby picture. I don’t know who would have pictures that old in my family. My mom had some from as far back as 1930’s or 40’s . That’s about it.More
Some have names and info on the back. I don't know anything of these people just know they are ancestors from my mother's side. Some of these appear to be quite oldThese are all awesome, JVA5th! Man, if I were you, I would be meeting with my mom and the rest of her family and try and put as many pieces together as possible. But that’s me. They are pretty old. You may not be able to figure them all out. Are you interested in ancestry? I use familysearch.org. When they stumble upon a possible family match, they notify me. Oh! I am just amazed at the family treasure you have! Just awesome in my book! Some have names and info on the back. They are neat pictures to come across one appears to not even be from the states. Most are on this nice solid cardboard like material, a few are set up as post cards, I'm thinking a portion of these go back into the 1800s but I know nothing of photos so could be wrongMan, if I were you, I would be meeting with my mom and the rest of her family and try and put as many pieces together as possible. Grommets would be of maritime origin....hunting in the main area of marine commerce.....I think any number of canvas items on a sailing vessel....sails, hatch and cargo covers, and even canvas awnings. Some age!
Pipe stem?
Any suspicion of grommet origins/use? Military , or wreckers , or civilian picnics?
Just a boat cargo cover?
(Yes , I ask too many questions.)
Neat china piece for your collection.
Maybe it was a high ranking persons supper plate and pistol belt buckle.
But who's lock box? Muuahhh Ha ha.
hey rc-i know its none of my business but i was just wondering where you live-sounds like a nice place-how was the weather there todaySetting sun filtered through the trees for a backdrop , male Cardinal took advantage of the quiet stage to give his best in song.
When he stopped and hopped about on a limb to watch my reaction (?) a male Robin sounded off with his territorial song across the road.
As a hummingbird zigged past me.
Maybe I'll put the snow shovel I retrieved out of the front yard today in the shed with such signs.
Don't want to jinx the weather yet though. Still have the plow on the truck for insurance. L.o.l..
Temps in the 50's forecast for tomorrow. Been warm and dry.
Birds will carry on regardless.
Man I look like that at work a lot lately!
