If you like Destroyers, and want a good read on a WWII Destroyer, get the book"The Ship That Would Not Die" by Julian Becton.True story, brave men, stalwart ship.
USS Laffey,DD-724.Long may she be remembered. As long as somebody remembers, she,s not dead.Long may her spirit reign!!

For those who may not know, the Laffey was one of the radar picket ships that manned the early warning line off Okinawa during the Kamikaze blitz there.Lonely duty performed by small ships operating by themselves in a very hostile place for small ships. Not for the faint of heart or the easily intimidated,Laffey did her duty and then some.

Works for me!
Well Crash I spoke to a fellow from
Monticello, AR today.
Must say he was a big help and a real pleasure talking with him.
Got on the subject of bow hunting and it seems that it is a passion for him.
"I want to see their breath"
So that makes me wonder now, are others like you and him in your state?

In the S.E. part there,s still a lot like us.We haven,t been bit by wokeism or political correctness.Hunters and fishermen, self sufficient to a fault, still stand for the Anthem and the flag.We won,t bother you,but insist that you not bother us either.Push us too far,you won,t like it.Still have manners and politeness.Monticello is about 40 miles SW of me.I go there to shop at Wal-Mart often.Nice town with a small University there. A boat building outfit there,SeaArk builds boats and sends them all over the world for both civilian and Military use.In the N.W. part of the State it,s different, big business and big University towns.HQ for Wal-Mart too.Lots of goody two shoes around there.

Sounds like a great place, crash. I am going to copy your perfect description of your state and post it in California. A lot of those folks are looking for a new home.
