For the last 9 yrs I have kind of kept track of the dates of when it freezes up, and when it opens up again.
Growers are commenting that the planting in the hoop houses is two weeks behind this year.

Morning RC
Got your post rains today.
Rotting the bay's ice up real good.
Dog and cat's are sleeping it off, they seem to like a rainy day of low pressure system.

Weather is breaking towards average temps after lagging what seemed too long.
On and off showers today.
A shot at scattered snow flurries as night time temps drop the next couple days.
Next week looks great! For high temps in upper 60's (F) a couple days. (?)

Yesterday was first chorus of spring peepers. Not too enthused but they were trying , as cold as they are. Silent this morning.
Next week should be a crescendo of them , even during the day.

May 30th was our average target date to start fishing the Nipigon region.
Water was usually still rowdy high and traces of ice sometimes.

I miss those trips.
Unique environment , history , and so many waterways.

Long danged winter though.

Your site is sweet.
I can see spending the first week after ice out cruising along the edges in a small craft.

A local on Nipigon did similar. Ice out shuffles the deck and interesting things turn up sometimes. How something old (relic type , not a human l.o.l.) can get relocated ,or how it wandered prior....Just part of the mystery of spring.

Looks like we might be getting a tad too much rain today.

"Rain, heavy at times is expected. The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall.

A significant rainfall continues into tonight.

Hazards:
Rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm may lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas.

Timing:
Into Friday morning.

Discussion:
Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm are expected by the time the rain tapers off by Friday morning. Locally higher rainfall amounts near 45 mm are possible."

Took a load from the shop to the landfill, look what followed me home.

I;m going to use the ATM safe to store my Milwaukee cordless tools, battery's and chargers.

After drilling the first lock out was confronted with another door with a combination lock. Fortunately the door was unlocked and someone had left the combo numbers inside.

The other small cash box was locked, something inside rattled, since I like surprised I cut it open.

The load I took to the landfill was empty computer cases, as luck would have it, brought another 10 home. Urban gold.
