Bart,

I checked on line and appears in the Western U.S. mahogany is going for $28 per board foot.

Versus $12.00 to $20.00 depending on size and thickness of the boards.

So there you have it depending on the volume the guy is buying could very well be a smart move.

Heck if it were me I'd sell off enough to pay the transport expenses and what I kept would be subsidized.

When I was a carpenter I installed a couple bars made from mohogany. Nice stuff, 2" thick finished. The bars were built in Canada but I don't know where the wood originated. Fifty feet of bar with a fancy cabinet behind it was around $250,000 back in the nineties. But if you got an Irish or German tavern you need a fancy bar because we got taverns on every street corner.

Sure played a lot of different artists in that version. :laughing7:

I've seen a couple failed Irish pubs (management related) that had woodwork that'd make you scream....Gorgeous to say the least. Extended beyond just the bar/counter and bar-back.

Can't recall the bar I'd have won a bet with with a former boss that said they all have one . No mirror on the bar-back. (No , the purpose was not for patrons to check thier hair.)
Probably more like that today as traditions fade.

Here's my buff. I'm guessing the 194 would have been part of a date such as 194* or 19*4 but your guess is as good as mine. Can anyone make sense of the obverse? I am reading EACLLS MER and I am utterly lost as to it's meaning. It was found in circulation here in NE Ohio.

Sorry it took a while to get a decent pic... I used to have a good set-up with a real bright lamp but I may or may not have dropped it on the ground and broke it a few days ago. :laughing7:

Tonight on the menu Jamaican jerk chicken I whipped up the sauce yesterday and I'll be going downstairs to marinate it shortly.

Noah,

Maybe post up your coin on this site and see if anyone can figure it out.

Will do. I posted it in the coins forum here on TNet earlier and Don suggested it might be related to Eagles Mere, Pennsylvania... I'm going to ask the Sullivan County (that's where Eagles Mere is) Historical Society if they've ever seen one first.

Noah,

Since you mentioned you were a classical music fan here you go.

I've got one for ya Bill... Here's a performance of Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 by Apollos Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra. I've seen them in person and they're definitely one of my favorites!

Hmm. Debt could exceed gross domestic product. That would not be good.
Or worse , we fail to pay interest on national debt.
Debt held by debt instrument holders worldwide....
Devaluing the dollar seems of little concern. It being backed not by anything tangible , but rather , goodwill.

No such thing as National Debt... RC i though you were hip to this.

Just ask yourself... "who is it we owe". ?

You cannot borrow what you do not have already. heh
