Funerals.... my dad passed 10 years ago on Jan 2. I still get emotional if think about too much. That Jeff form pa help me post some songs that eve. It was such a relief at the time. He smoked pallmalls. Gasping for air is a slow painful death. He like to drink beer too. About the last 5 years of life sting cheese club cracker’s and beer was all he consumed. As he got worst I had hospice move in. Breathing morphine all day long made it easier for him. I found my best Clovis on July 3 and have started to tell the story about but not now as I’m going to be a wreck. I think I’ll write it down on paper and take a pic and post the story, I just don’t know how to write upside down or so you can read it when on its side.
Yuk..yuk hahaa Good day all

I've been keeping tabs on the gold ring spot....record numbers of boats for the whole holiday season. I also know that at least 2 hunters would never get in the water this time of year.....well I have a very nice wetsuit or 2 and I think its time to get in the cold for the gold !!

76 is perfect with my shortie suit !! I could see people losing gold as I drove by yesterday. 50-60 boats out there !!

Well ive learned that most tourists are not afraid of some cool water....I've also learned that most locals don't hunt in the winter down here. So there should be tourist gold building up with only a fraction of the hunters actually getting wet !!
Best of luck to you on your latest quest for modern gold Bart, hope you come home with a pouchful! :occasion14:

When the cold weather sets in we get a craving for comfort food. One of our go to options is Indian food so tonight we're having some dahl(basically a spicy lentil stew) and some spicy cauliflower & potatoes.

We took some pita bread out of the freezer traditionally it would be served with naan bread but we don't have any at the moment.

We try to sneak in a few vegetarian suppers per week if we can.

Here's a dahl recipe.

Just got off the phone with a long time buddy of mine.

I've known him since about 1969 or so we were sharing crazy stories from our misspent youth. Just to put in context he grew up in a small town south of Montreal pretty much in the sticks.

I had quite a few coworker friends including him at the CPR from that town so we have a stag party at the local country pub for one of the guys.

If memory serves me well by the end of the night the entire inventory of beer, hard stuff and liqueurs was completely gone....lol.

This is probably October so things are cooling down temp wise but we decide to go for a skinny dip at the local pool. We hop the fence and are having a great time and freezing our butts in the process when the cops show up.

They basically had a good laugh and sent us on our merry way.

That was one of the more tame stories we shared from bygone times.

And....folks....that wraps up the Bill from Lachine Show for today! :tongue3:

Life-long friends like this are rare thing Bill, sounds like you guys did a lot of reminiscing last night.

I have a friend like that too, we met in Kindergarten in 1969 and we're still good friends today, although we only speak once a year or so.
