Top of the morning Bill.
For some odd reason you popped in to my mind a few times while baking up a storm of squash yesterday.

Morning pepper morning ARC morning bill morning dave.

My first attempt at a gun quickly devolved into a fantasy piece. Immediately I lost the scale of the piece and just went with my instinct. Dosent really resemble any known gun designs but does pass for a gun !! As is always the case this mahogany turns under sharp tools like a stick of butter !!

The cascabel will have to be added later.

I've got 4 more blank cylinders to work with.....confidence is high that I can complete an exact replica, but its not easy one wrong cut and you've lost your dimensions and scale of the piece. Time to break out the calipers !!

Watching my first "Beyond Oak Island"... About Laffite treasure.

Have you watched the one in the 1715 fleet ?

Yes I saw several last night... I was impressed and left with a sense of applause for the brothers on this venture.

Good morning RTR.

Bart... forward reinforcement rings are correct... can you do rear ones same way ?

Yes ARC...I can. Maybe you have an idea of a gun you would want to replicate. You know these guns well and I respect your opinion....which design should I attempt? I'm looking for something simple yet elegant without to much carving work. Im looking at a 1547 falconet that I like so far.....got any ideas ?

Yeah... I will think on this... I definitely jus had a FLOOD of designs just go through my head... lol

Um... let me stew / ponder this... just keep up "dialing it all in"... I will submit some ideas for sure if you really want me to.

Um also...

Morning roger....it sure is nice to have ya back on the ship...we missed ya !!

I am not sure how you planned on doing the trunnions...

Suggestion... bore straight through proportionate hole... then insert a cut "dowel" through.

TAHT IS... if you are not doing "full muzzle bore".. heh
