THE Random Chat Thread - AKA "The RCT" - No shirt or shoes required - Open 24 / 7

I dropped off a care package to our backdoor neighbours. They have 3 young girls so a mix of 3 different home made jams as an early halloween treat and a hot crabapple jelly for mom and dad.

Mom's an emergency nurse working with covid patients so we had a bit of a chat from a distance she's having it a bit rough doing 40 hours a week rather than part time. She had a 100 year old lady as a patient the other day with a fever, etc....

They did the tests and they came back negative and she woke the patient in the middle of the night to tell her everything was ok. what a sweetheart....:headbang::headbang::headbang:

The bread and pasties I need to study later Uncle! Yumm.

Gate building whupped me today. Kind of a heavy gate to be running around carrying with the wheelchair ,up the ramp and through the house to back deck.

I'm certainly no carpenter.
Did get it in place. Debating rounding the top.
Project called on account of darkness.
The dogs needed out too by then.

Feel old tonight, just up from the chair and ouch!
Strained the back a little this morning then did the 70lb jackhammer trip this afternoon for hours.
Floor opened up, now I'll dig it out and install the drain tomorrow.
Got a call from the concrete guy this morning and he's pouring the floors next Wed.

I was just about ready to return the jackhammer to buddy and the Mrs said why don't you take your detector and go play for a bit. Now isn't :love4:
So I found a new site on a old permission, lots of iron, got a few pieces of old brass.
Nice dark green patina type, so it'll take a few return trips to clean a bunch of iron out.
It was a hour of detecting/digging, working out the back.

Pasties remind me of a little story:
We were driving around New Zealand and all the little stores had this amazing ice cream. They also had signs up that they had mince meat pies.
The Mrs loves mince meat pie, and usually at Xmas we'll get a small pie or a few tarts. Put some ice cream on it and it's a treat.
So the mrs asks the store clerk for a mince meat pie, and could she get a scoop of ice cream on it.
Now I can still recall the look on that clerks face and she said "Ice Cream?"
"Yes" said the mrs "Ice Cream"
"Do you realize that it's mutton-don't you?"
"WHAT! I thought it was mince meat"
Everybody burst out laughing.

Must admit NZ dairy is to die for-great ice cream.

Morning WD, ARC, Dave

Pasties? [emoji2957][emoji1787][emoji2957][emoji1787]

In England that's what they're called, a staple in the food chain for fast foods. Some are actually pretty good and others well they are gut rot literally.

Good morning Jim.
How's the back feeling this morning, are you heading out to do more drainage work in your barn today? :coffee2:

"Pasties are patches that cover a person's nipples and areolae, typically affixed with adhesive. Though pasties are commonly associated with strippers, burlesque shows and erotic entertainment, they are also, at times, worn as an undergarment, beachwear, or as a form of protest during women's rights events such as Go Topless Day that may avoid potential prosecution under indecency laws." :laughing7:

I finally decided to clean the dust off my tower for my desktop computer....no wonder I get sneezing fits using the computer in the evenings must be all the dust the computer fan is blowing my way....heck the fan outlet looked like it was in a dust blizzard.... maybe I should hire Dave with his feather duster to give it a thorough cleaning.....
Oh Bill, you wouldn’t want to see the outfit that I wear when I’m dusting… it isn’t pretty!
I know I look happy, but that's only because my wife let me wear her pearl necklace. :laughing7:

Sounds like some good potential on your new site permission Jim. :occasion14:
