Jim,

Lots of restaurant + tavern staples are not on the menu or rarely compared to before. At one time the hot chicken or turkey sandwich were pretty much on every menu. Other popular items were cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, hamburger steak, etc...

I remember the hot turkey sandwich was the staple of every diner in the land it seemed. Now that was 30-40 yrs ago-I have no idea what is on a menu now a days. :dontknow:

I'm trying to think back to days of eating in restaurants and I cannot ever recalling stuffed peppers-mind you it was rare to even see a pepper in the grocery store.

Foods are always interesting and we got some Culatello ham last weekend for a special treat this weekend. (As I never got around to taking a rooster out)
So I tried the ham yesterday and I said it had almost a moldy taste (they call it a sweet musky flavour ).

For a different lunch I mixed 3 boiled eggs, mayo, salt & pepper, tomato, garlic/tomato cheese, and some of the Culatello ham on slices of Kamut toast.:tongue3:

For TG dinner tonight it's wood oven pizza, and I'll dress it up with Water Buffalo, basal, cheese, and another veg. I'll see if I can find a mushroom.

I'm looking for confessions. Who here on the forum is competing with me on ebay for Revolutionary War period militaria, buttons etc?...lol

Could anyone-or no one.
The online auctions do show what the market will bare.
But it's not a problem for the vendor to bid up it's own wares to produce a certain reserve price.
Rather dig it-than buy it.
Rather have it- than had it.

Sounds like you do know your buttons.

Pepper. I would love to join the ranks of you treasure hunters. I've been watching videos on youtube to learn the techniques. I will be buying all the equipment necessary by next spring. I'll still purchase items, but I look forward to the hard work and excitement of discovering a historical treasure myself. Right from the ground! I watch 'The Hoover Boys' on youtube. I didn't know there were people who felt such passion and excitement for history as I do! I have to meet up with people like this. It will enrich my life immeasurably.

I buy tons of stuff from the Great White North. You Canucks have all the good stuff!...lol

Best regards,

JG

A very pretty song, Sire. I never heard it before. Thanks.
Mine is the pleasure.
