Pepperj,

I’m glad you got out to see the fall colors. That’s good therapy for anyone’s ailments.

It's great the Mrs is so supportive-now why did this video pop into the head.

Best of luck on the puppy Dave-I have a feeling it wasn't just the gals that wanted another dog-you ol' dog.
We're going for a fall colour drive to Cole Hill today-going to get a pizza and things from a place called the Chef's Barn.

You definitely need to look after your lungs Jim, as long as you're feeling well most of the time, your quality of life certainly sounds good.

I hear you about making a long drive yesterday, we drove 410kms/255miles round trip, but it was well worth it to pick out and meet our new dog.
We have to make the return to pick her up on Sat. Oct. 31 when she's 8 weeks old.

Reminds me of one annual review I received. I was told that they knew I wasn't being paid as much as others in my area of expertise. But they weren't going to do anything about it, ( the old time for you to leave syndrome)
Anyway, I stayed for a while and was eventually pulled in for another meeting after a couple weeks. They asked why my work had slacked off. Late, incompletes, errors, etc...
I asked them, "What do you expect?! From a rookie!?"
They informed me I was no rookie! I had the most experience in the company!
I said, "Can't prove it.....by my paycheck!"
Push to shove and finally, after another month or so....they informed me I was no longer needed.
I said, "Good! My advisor told me he had the forms ready to file."
"File for what!?!?"
"My age discrimination suit."
A week later I was offered a buy out. I took part of that and bought my AT. Then, retired from the rat race and went for a "walk".
Barump bump!

Thanks for the great story Whadi, I think this is something all of us in the workplace go through as we age.
We are definitely worth more because of our accumulated knowledge, but all employers seem to want is to bring younger people to replace you for half the pay... I just don't get this. :BangHead:
Right now, all I'm trying to do is get back into the workforce... this darn COVID situation seems to be never-ending here in Ontario!

On a happier note, here are a few pics of our new puppy. :icon_thumleft:
We bought her from a Mennonite farm breeder, here she is getting her nails trimmed for the first time by the breeder. :laughing7:

She's a cross breed between a Coton de Tulear & a Bichon Frise... a 'Biton' for short.
The breed is hypoallergenic, non-shedding and has a cheerful, positive, happy attitude.

Good morning Jim. :hello:

I don't know how tired you were after your road trip yesterday, but I was in bed by 9pm. :laughing7:
I'll be signing off in about 15mins to head out to the fields.

According to the weather radar, I should be good until around 9am before the rain hits. :icon_scratch:

Did you stop at TIM HORTONS?

I stopped doing TH in 2007, just couldn't take the crap any longer.
I had tried the dark roast on a long drive back from New Brunswick as I needed a fix. It was just bad, so I poured it out the window and kept driving. (Cup stayed in)
No it's only a coffee from a coffee house or nothing.
Wife got us Latte at The Muse Gallery & Cafe in Bancroft-then one at the farm, as they have a machine for making up coffees.

It wasn't long after that either for me, I think the pets had other ideas as they had slept all day.

Best of luck in the fields today Dave, hope the rain holds off. Very wet looking out in the moonlight.

:laughing7: Timmies is pretty much our only option here in Canada when we're on a road trip!

I know you guys in the US are big on your Dunkin Donuts & Starbucks, but here in the north, Tim's is pretty much in every small town.
The last Dunking Donuts location closed in Quebec in 2016.

"Most Canadians would be surprised to hear that Dunkin’ even still existed in the country — the chain peaked in the ‘90s, with over 200 locations in Quebec alone, but started shrinking substantially in the 2000s. For a few years, it has only existed in Quebec, dwindling to just three locations this year. The coffee-bagel-fried dough chain had a rough time in its final years in Canada: in 2003, a group of Quebec franchisees sued the company for failing to sufficiently promote its brand and offerings. The drawn-out legal process finally wrapped up in 2016 after appeals from the chain, and 21 franchisees were awarded around $18 million."

In fact, I'll be at my local Tim's in about 30mins for my medium, dark-roast double-double and a double-toasted 12-grain bagel before I hit the fields.

Thanks Jim, you have a good Sunday as well.

The puppy looks like a keeper Dave-best of luck on the job front.

Good morning Tnet

Geez I forgot to say "Good morning Dave"-no manners what so ever this am.

Good Morning Rook.

Jim,

Well glad you can ride with the punches....like you I'm being cautious but let's face it we all have to live a little so no need to get paranoid.

Oh we're very cautious, we have a small bubble of like minded folks. If I don't know you stay away at least 6ft. and anything that anyone else has come in contact with that I touch, those gnarly meat hooks get sanitized or washed.
The options are very limited for me Bill-the specialist says I won't fair well if I catch it-probably be looking at the root system of the green turf.

Morning pepperj. Dave, AARC, WD .
