I believe that most of us me included are pack rats by nature. Probably wired that way as part of our survival instincts.

Millenium ago people would store food and supplies to protect them against famines, war, lean times, etc...put in some stuff that brings back memories in the mix and keeping stuff is the end result.

Here you go....we add a bit of chopped up ham or bacon also and some hot peppers either flakes or fresh chopped up.

A given bell peppers even would do my stomach in for months.
Not an option sadly.

The veggies we don't produce ourselves from the garden we try to get for a decent price. The other day my wife went to our favourite shop for fruits and veggies.

She comes home with a monster savoie cabbage that costs $1.39 and weighs 7 lbs......

So tonight some kind of omelette dish she tracked down using some of the cabbage, onions, etc...tomorrow night stuffed cabbage rolls.

Before we use it all I'll be feeling like a cabbage patch doll....
