RC....I did the same thing !! My pinched nerve had me standing and reading from 4 AM to 6 AM. I read a book that was written by the florida treasure hunters worst enemy...Carl j clausen...hes gone now but he was well hated by underwater salvagers here in FL. That being said....he had a unique point of view and was by all means a top notch expert on not only the 1715 fleet but many other colonial spanish shipwrecks here in florida.....it would be a huge mistake as a treasure hunter to ignore his work because he was an archie. Already I have compressed his work in my head to the point of 2-3 pieces of information about locales and extent and number of salvage camps, pirate/english camps, and ais indian camps in relation to the wrecks !! He was a smart guy and he got in the water with the early salvagers...he was the first state archie/agent !! Plenty of good info on the beach camps here !! 15953513001668025635984979464473.jpg

4.9 1715 fleet ,Henry Jennings takes advantage of several years of recovery / salvage teams...(!)
Sly dog let others make recoveries first , and then robbed them. A strategy still used. Even by a certain state, let alone other less savory individuals and groups , and countries , as if the state alone was not bad enough.

Yes , even an arch enemy's tactics can be of benefit.
If recalled correctly , the Fisher team locating the location of an original salvage crews previous operation factored in at least one wrecks fate.

Bart... and anyone else who has Florida ties...

Disturbance #2 - Updated: Satellite imagery and recent satellite wind data indicate
that the low pressure system located about midway between the west
coast of Africa and the Lesser Antilles continues to get better
organized. If current trends continue, advisories could be
initiated on this system as a tropical depression later today.
Regardless of development during the next couple of days, less
favorable conditions should limit additional development by the
weekend.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...80 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.

Morning RC.

Mornin Cap'n!

"Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight!"

In R.L.S.'s book treasure Island (I know , fiction) Silver mentions his parrot having been at the fishing up of the plate ships ;and gives a figure/number of pieces of eight. Interesting count vs Jennings's take. (350,000).

Then the author drives me crazy when the ship is abandoned.
The Doctor stating a reason being they had no water on the ship and they then start hauling stuff to shore repeatedly while I holler , "just go get water and bring it back to the ship!" L.o.l..
Ah well. His story.

Normally you do not see me post this type of info on storms... UNLESS... it is like this one.

It is the location of its birth that I don't like.

It is the rapid jump from 20 to 80% in less than 24 hours.

It is the trajectory.

It is its projected path... and where that paths locations would be.

All of this thrown in the blender =

Eyebrow raise.

Glad we just get lake affect weather...

ARC,

Good luck if the storm hits as you project!

I am not saying it will or wont hit us... its just one of those ones I take note and want to pass along.

Its a ways off yet... and it has to go through some rough area.. a lot can happen.

Well with all this covid stuff going on we've been trying to get up to date on our medical issues. Both me and the missus had eye exams and are good for 2 more years. Dental cleaning and some touch ups so good for awhile.

The missus had a mamogram and next week she's seeing her gyno so she should be ship shape top to bottom....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Everyone's talking another surge this fall so we're trying to get all this stuff out of the way while it's quiet.

I dunno Uncle. I was pretty aggressive pulling a couple of them...:laughing7:

The impressive amount of determined action about the whole thing , is that I made it past the planning stage without taking a nap instead!

101lbs of berries today.
3hrs of driving
6hrs of picking
Some great catch up with owners.
We had the patch to ourselves, no social distancing needed.
Anybody else showed up the owner sent them on their way.
Perfect day.
Berries were huge, and delicious. We didn't even eat dinner tonight, wonder why.
BTW that handful didn't make the basket either.
