Morning WD
I’m still here. I just got things going that ruffle my feathers. Gotta do a little traveling today looking at a Kawasaki mule a fellow has for sale. I could use one about now around here.

Good morning everyone! :hello:

I don't have a lot of time to spend here this morning, as I'm just finishing up packing for our trip to the cottage.

I have to pick up my mother-in-law at 11am, as she'll be tending our garden and staying here while we're gone next week.

Mornin all!
Antiquarian , breath in. Breath out.
If you seek employment again your networking will produce.
Sometimes , letting a subject that is forefront simmer in the back of your mind can help provide ideas easier than keeping it forefront. At least for my mind...

Sometimes a chance to do what you really want, or something more near to such comes up timewise. Is it financially rewarding has to figure though.
(No wonder I've had a life of hard labor chasing a dollar....)

Enjoy your time afield with family. Savor the opportunity. Bank them memories. They'll be worth more than gold soon enough...

Dave,

If you're not already a member linkedin could be an option to promote your skill sets and do some networking. I belong to it but only to keep in touch with my fellow coworkers from before my retirement.

I just wanted to say a special thank you to Simon, Bill & releventchair for sharing your thoughts about my recent job loss.

releventchair - I will be taking a couple of weeks to get my head straight, but I won't be taking too long as we still have to pay our mortgage. :laughing7:

Bill - I've been a member of LinkedIn since at least 2005, thankfully I have over 1500+ contacts and will definitely utilize these connections in my search for a new career path.

Thanks again to all of my friends here on Tnet for your emotional support and I'll get back online again tomorrow morning from the cottage.
Dave

PS. I've decided to leave the detector at home for this holiday.

Thank you for your frontline service!

Morning WHADIFIND

Talk about a comedy of errors the last couple of days. Tried several times to activate my CITI Bank credit card for use at Costco over the phone without luck.

Problem is I had forgot my pin and had to do a reset on the new cards we received to replace the expiring ones. I phoned the 800 number and talked to a gal explaining what the problem was. She asked me some personal questions to make sure I was the cardholder. She proceeded to give me a 6 digit code to punch in when she flipped me over to an automated system.

You have to tell the AI recording you wish to activate your card, then tell it you forgot your pin, then it asks you if you have a secret number and you say yes punch it in and then repeat it verbally. Then the machine is supposed to send an email which you then click on to access their site and select a new 4 digit code.

Well guess what followed all the steps and didn't receive the promised email.....after 2 tries on consecutive days we gave up and went to Costco to do it face to face with a rep.....finally got it set up but the first time you use the new card with the reset number you have to type in the new pin number 3 times at the cash before it's approved.

Heck I'd probably have an easier time breaking into Fort Knox than doing this whole reset b.s.....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Be safe ARC, Bart and ECS I see Florida had over 11,000 new cases yesterday. So much for the heat making it go away.

Mornin all!

More much needed rain during the night. Yeah!
Disgruntled dogs had me running them outside at 1:A.M. and 5:A.M..
Barking gets you put outside , even though you're barking because of the weather....
That quieted them some for a few hours.
Now that I'm up again , they're all crashed out snoozin. Need me an air horn!:laughing7:

RC,

Yeah the rain is long overdue in our area also. Forecasting possible showers for the next 5 days keeping my fingers crossed.

Just got back from picking the berries on the property.
It feels like 114F outside right now.
Black flies are relentless, in the shade mosquitoes are alive as well.
Managed to get bitten on the hands a few time.
Pricked numourous time by the cane thorns.
Sitting down eating lunch, wait, what's that crawling across my belly?
Black legged tick.
Got a real ankle biter that stuck in, a nice little hawthorn branch.
Air was blue more than once on this pick, reasons being things were picking on me it seems.
Still it was worth the blood, sweat, and the tear while pulling that ankle biter out.
