The Raleigh Convention of 1860 of the K.G.C.

L.C. Paul Morton took his bosses job. He was part of the Teddy Roosevelt administration. TR was a progressive and the monopoly buster. They wanted him to fade into the sunset as V.P. A assassin's bullet changed all that and you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men.

That had to be a bitter pill for O.A.K. to swallow. Having a man that could send contracts there way without interference. Charging what they wanted without question and then skimming off the top. Sweet deal if you can get it done. But it looks like they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Plenty of other places to get rich off of. They wanted gravy on their mashed potatoes not just salt and pepper.

I think this meeting was just like that one in N.C. in 1860, but it is a celibration of $$$$$$$ to come.

P.S. The only Trusts that Teddy the "Trust Buster" busted were the competition!

L.C. This is a fact that you most likely know. The diary entry of February 14,1884 was the day both his mother and wife passed away. TR was no friend of the robber barons. They may have hob nobbed together at some big banquets and dinners. But no friendship was ever lost wherever they would have been. Maybe that is why they look so dour in some of those early photos.

Although he was Assistant Secretary of the Navy when the U.S.S. Maine blew up starting the Spanish American war. Now who was it that said "I will supply the headlines, you supply the war". Maybe he needed the war to restart his political career. The military industrial complex was just a sideline that happens when you go to war.

In reading more on T R " The Colonel " I had forgotten that he was instrumental in the building the Panama Canal. Maybe he was following the the old K.G.C.'s plan. Cuba, Panama, Nicaragua. Wonder what plans he had for Mexico.

As long as we are talking about T R here is one that you may or may not be familiar with but had a impact on Nebraska.Kinkaid Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This freed up a lot of land in north west Nebraska and was the last land rush in the U.S. This was in a area that T R had been familiar with in his wild west days. The wild west was about over with when he got there but he got a taste of it just the same.

L.C. don't know how I missed it but your Lew Rockwell link it is very good. If it had been a snake it would have bit me. This is getting to be a giant spider web. At the time I think I am getting near the center I find myself towards the outside edge of the web again.

Paul Morton was involved in the Colorado Fuel and Iron company. This involvement and a few things he did caused him to resign as Secretary of the Navy. Later this company was involved in the Ludlow Massacre. He got his revenge and it almost took down John D.Rockefeller Jr. This after Paul's death. Greed gave way to good intention and a cause. This is one reason that the spider web is so difficult to get to the middle.

As I now say more often cause and effect, chain of events, all this Chaos makes perfect sense. I just have a hard time organizing all the chaos and keeping track of the chain of events.

ALL of it was O.A.K.; WHO was "the SPIDER" in the O.A.K.-web...?

Rebel that is a good question. As Sherlock Holmes had a 7% solution this might take a couple of pounds of pipe tobacco and gallons of coffee. This takes time, research, and plane plumb luck to come out with the right answer. It may be more like the ending of the movie "Murder on the Orient Express". Who can you say fired the shot that killed him. Who was the man who gave the orders. This just might have to look at this problem from a way different angle. From a entirely different place and for another reason than the one we think we know.

That plan never changed but the shape of their desired empire did as the years rolled on. I believe it was a plan in motion shaped over many generations.
" The diary entry of February 14,1884 was the day both his mother and wife passed away" What a good, but regretful example of all the light going out in your life. X

L.C.

P.S. Teddy was a "Friend and BROTHER" who started visting Arbor Lodge, the home of Knight of the Golden Circle / O.A.K. members J.S. Morton and Sons during the Grover Clevland administration when he was the head of the Civil Service. J.S. Morton was the Sec. of Agriculture at that time. Cleveland was the leader of the pro-business Bourbon Democrats who opposed high tariffs, Free Silver, inflation, imperialism, and subsidies to business, farmers, or veterans (and the K.G.C.contained all of the above). He was known in the public's eye for his crusade for political reform (undo what was did) and fiscal conservatism that made him an icon for American conservatives of that era. He was the 22nd and 24th president of the U.S.A. Look at his hand in the La Abra Silver Mining deal with Mr. Nuckolls and assc. and you will see that he showed his affilliation through his actions concerning that case filed in 1865...long before he was president. Upon visiting Nebraska City ALL of these brothers would have all sat in the same lodge and may have privately attended meetings together with Logan Enyart, S.F. Nuckolls, Ben Ficklin, William Gwin, Alexander Majors A.S. Johnson....Jesse James if he was in town.....ect. ect. ect.

In N.C., I would "pay attention" to the BILTMORE ESTATE... George Washington Vanderbilt ($$$$$$$$$$$$), descended from Cornelius Vanderbilt (19th Century shipping & railroad tycoon; $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$); PROBABLY had INTERESTING meetings at the Jekyll Hotel in SC with various members of O.A.K. BILTMORE = BALTIMORE, LAST Castle of Knights... MOSTLY "Copper-Heads" (aka Peace Democrats, States-Righters); "allied" with KGC/CSA. "Anti-Lincoln" during the CONFEDERATE WAR...

What is REALLY interesting, is that "Dream of an Empire" goes back to Aaron Burr; @ 1803 or so. AB was Vice-President when Thomas Jefferson was PREZ. After TJ got the LP and Louis & Clark went "exploring" (the North West), AB wanted the SOUTH WEST for himself... to be KING/EMPEROR! Such a "CLOUDY MISTS of TIME". Check out the Jefferson/Burr CONFLICT...

Part of me thinks that old Aaron might have caught wind of what was being planned for that area by the K.G.C. It is very interesting that the man who turned him in to Thomas Jefferson was Lewis Cass if I am not mistaken.

Great Stuff! Thanks for bringing it up Rebel!

YW; Carry on!

Aaron Burr might have succeeded if it was not for that pesky Alexander what's his name. After that duel he was on a downward spiral.

Sorry I have been absent again. Computer is messed up and most of my notes and research is lock up on that machine. Have to have my son work on the thing and get it straight out. For right now I am posting with my kindle. Not only that but we have had over 18 inches of rain in the last 12 days. I got out once in that time to town. We have been stranded out here for the last 10 days. My garden got flooded out and has to be all replanted. Right now it is a mud hole. If we don't get anymore rain we should be able to get it replanted by the first of June.

I was able to find a few of my sites and am reading parts of "The Harrison Flag" the Marshall Texas newspaper. What was happening with the K.G.C. in and around here when all the big bugs had a pow wow here some time in 1859. It seems that they were trying to get financial support from the planters and plantation owners. There was a great deal of money as a great part of the cotton production of the U.S.was in this part of Texas. Marshall was the third largest city in Texas and Jefferson Texas was as big a port as far as tonnage shipped as New Orleans. More later if I come up with something juicy.
Know that this is a bit off topic but y'all need to know.

mystery solved

After more research I found why Gen. Greer was in Charleston. He attended the Democratic party convention of 1860. The K.G.C. convention was held a week later in Raleigh. The is a link to the convention in Charlestonhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_1860_Democratic_National_Conventions

Now things are becoming more clear. And the mystery is solved. This was a state rights convention. Along with pro- slave platform. The Kansas and Nebraska act was a hot topic at the convention also.
