strange pile of rocks

Not to mention the need for an educated person ...
to include those NASTY death traps.

Those catholic (Jesuit Mostly) Pukes were a bummer when it comes to that death trap stuff.

Here is a new one . I have never seen two alike, but this one is a physics Seminar at best.

I'd hate to be in their sandals come judgment

Sorry guys
a storm came through and my internet went down till now.

The large triangular stone is about 6 feet thick it is supported by a single corner on the bottom by a dish shaped stone, the top is supported by a pivot that is just off center and the third corner rests on the top stone in the stack, but only barely.

Move the top stone to retrieve the cache that lies behind the stack and the triangular stone will flip over crushing the persons trying to move the cache. also securing the stack in place.

This is the first one I have seen like this. there are drilled holes in the sides of this big stone triangle, were the guys who set it up used long pry bars to move it and lever it into place.

Does this rock look like an old Indian chief to anyone ? I’m

asking this for a special reason . I was looking through one of my

treasure books and noticed a reference to a carving of an old

Indian chief associated with a treasure legend. Now I’m not a big

believer in treasure stories unless they come from a source very

near to the person who actually dug the hole . Common since tells

me that most if not all treasure stories have precious little truth in

them after generations of telling , and that’s assuming they were

true in the beginning . Having said that, I thought that if this rock

could pass for an old Indian Chief, then a lot of this treasure story

would fit my site. I would love to put the story on here for

everyone to read , its only a paragraph long , but I’m afraid of the

Book Police who may come for me if I put copyrighted material

on the Internet. The books name is A guide to Treasure in

Colorado. By H. Glenn Carson . and the story is on page 30. I

would gladly post it if its ok to do so. Let me know if anyone thinks this looks

like an Indian face. P.S. Back up when look at the picture, its meant to be seen from far away.

TLH,

yes there is a cache behind the stack.

That sure does look like an Indian.
Don't worry about using copyrighted material ... just give the reference that shows where it came from. this way the book police won't think you are trying to steal the words as your own. Just as you did above.

No worries.

Thanks Old Dog, if the book Police come get me Ill tell them you made me do it . :D I’m glad to hear you found something, It sure would be helpful for all of us to see the signs that led you there. And now for a very short treasure story, from H. Glenn Carson’s book, “ A guide to Treasure in Colorado”.

Way to go Buddy!!!
Looks to me like you have stumbled onto another good story to chase.
If you get to the treasure send me an email with a photo.

Good luck
Hope you find it.

Nice pics TLH....i'd forget the fables of lost treasure and focus upon the markers you already have and work them to their eventual end....you might have a hum dinger of a surprise like old dawg and i do....

Congratulations to you and O.D. on your find [I should be so skilled] . Not to worry about me and treasure stories, I'm not a believer. I think a person can waste a lot of their life trying to find truth in a Tall Tale. In my case its different, I'm trying to see if a Tall Tale would fit a site Ive already found, If it dosn't ,oh well, Ive still got all my strange rocks.

All those rocks you have tell a piece of history that only you will know Until you tell it.

Thanks for sharing and helping the story come alive for us.

Almost like we are there with you, Keep up the good work.
I love this Spanish stuff.

it sounds to me like you are closer than anyone else has ever been.
don't stop now, any help I or my partner can give you has been offered with no strings.

stay safe

Thom

azstomper and Old Dog, thanks for your kind words and generous offer , I appreciate it

I don't know anything about the symbols but after reading everything here it sounds quite interesting to me you just might be onto something here. It may be nothing but in your post #18 the bottom pic of the turtles. It almost looks like the two turtles are sitting on top of a very large turtle with head pointing to the right and the legs stickin out. Could also just be my imagination here but figured I'd add a little bit of curiosity to the rest.

Thanks for your input Mobes, anything that you can point out to me is appreciated . It does look like there could be a turtle that the others are sitting on, but its hard to tell from the angle and distance I have to take the pictures from, those rocks are about seventy five feet in the air and there’s no easy or safe way to the top that I can see. Those turtle rocks haunt me more than anything else at the site because they are obviously not natural , they represent exactly what a Spanish sign is supposed to look like, [Turtle pointers and a skylight ] and they point to other rocks that look like Spanish signs. Maybe one day I can figure a way to get my camera up there without me going with it [RC airplane, helicopter, real long pole] and then we can all see what’s up there.

Here’s a few more pictures of them, look around and tell me what you see.

I don't really see much else there I'd have to study some of the other pics a bit more to see if I see anything. The RC helicoptor would work but ya need someone who is good at flying one. Don't know if a RC plane would work due to the speed they fly at. Well good luck with your adventure, keep the postings coming it's an interesting story and I think I can speak for everyone here we'd love to hear the ending. :)

TLH,
I'm sure I would like to see the whole thing from the reverse side to see how that turtle looks, I just noticed the pointer on the left side of the stack that doesn't show in the closeups and I can only suppose where it would be in relation to the stack in these closeups.
Also, I noted the small pointer on the stack pointing down to the long pointer along side the stack on the right in the closeup. that is just self explanatory, LOL.

that is about as much useful information as one can give from the photos without a wider scope of the area around the little stack. There is a triangular pointer close to the stack that plays a part in the scheme of things here that isn't in the closeup, it can be seen in the large photo and should be included in the smaller photo as it applies.

Hope this helps Buddy,

Thom

Shadow markers elsewhere at the height of the season? Moving slow as the turtle.

turtle-rock has a couple nice things inthe pic i am shocked no one has said boo about.
email me the fullsize and i'll circle and explain....

DW

Thanks for your continuing interest Mobes, I just need to get over my fear of heights

Old Dog I cant get pictures of the reverse side of the little turtles without climbing up there with them, the pictures you see are taken from an adjoining hill a couple hundred yards away, and that’s the only angle I can get. Your right about the small rock on top of the stack, its actually got more than one point sticking out of it. I’ve always felt that it’s a modifier that you use when your up there with the turtles, like a rear gun sight to line up with the turtles head or tail to somewhere on the ground. I think that just following where the turtle points to would be to easy.

Twisted Fork I’ve never seen anything that I could be sure was a shadow marker. As for slow, I can assure you that there’s nothing in those mountains that moves as slow as I do ;D

Azstomper, let me know which picture you want and I’ll send it.
