Got out today for a little sampling, and found a nice little spot I will return to. Found a couple "chunky" pieces for SD gold.

One of these days mojo. I'd love to come up there. My first couple experiences prospecting in my early 20's was in the mother load just outside of Yosemite. But before I come north I need to make it out to south AZ, or Goldenirishman might put a beating on me! Lol.

Hand trawl/classifier/gold pan allowed in CNF campgrounds so long as no significant disturbance(as per CNF spokesperson)

I live up in Temecula, I just got started in panning and need to get out somewhere with someone who knows what they're doing. Thinking about joining GPAA, but would be fun to actually go out and find it all yourself. But where? Haha

Living in Tmec, you are close to east for San Gabriel, big bear area has gold too. I believe there is supposed to be gold around around hemet?

Yeah there's a GPAA claim south east of Hemet. I think there's a group in Temecula that go to big bear and the desert but do a lot of dry washing. I'm just going to have to go on a drive one day in the hills haha

Finding gold without claims and clubs is a mission. Its fun but if you are looking to make the most of your time a club seems to be the way to go. Im sure you can find some spots in big bear though.

Just a little teaser pic... About .5 gram. There is gold in San Diego, it's just hard to find and harder to get access, add in no water at most dig sites....
