That road is still there. It's covered with grass except for the actual tire tracks. Pretty narrow road though. Not sure how far you'd have to go to get turned around. But the property owner was riding his quad on it. We are headed back in tomorrow morning for a little more digging.

Well it seems like we've hit a road block. What once was BLM land is now show as residential lots on the counties map. I guess now we need to research the sales of land records, to see if Blm actually sold land in the last 15 years or if someone is trying to absorb acreage by ignorance. Either way someone complained and we had an exciting day on Sunday. We actually had as police helicopter circle us in a little canyon and direct us to hike up the hill to our vehicles. Talk about a waste of tax dollars! No charges, no harassment, just a warning to check current maps and our access. So we see the map has changed, now we need to validate it. Thanks J.

Serious bummer. Wonder how someone got the BLM to sell to them. Odd.

The BLM will do trades .The western USA was mostly checkerboarded BLM/private. Most of the private was a gift to the railroads. About 25 years ago the Chocolate mts were traded for some worthless acreage that D Feinstein and her husband Blum owned. They benefitted in the billions. Must be nice

The building of all those million dollar homes in the good diggins is never good for us.

Sorry you guys temporarily lost your spot. Hopefully it will work out for you.......

You just need to go out to the diggins a little later, say around midnight. What... Who said that, wasn't me....

These diggins are surrounded by large custom homes with more under construction , they know who and what vehicles belong and those that don't. Coupled with the fact the placer is usually bone dry where you need to haul water in for reduction, it would be a tough stealth mission. Still, I like your style AlaskaGold.

Don't think I haven't contemplated it... But like HP, said it'd be a hell of a stealth mission without water at the dig site.

What about just asking permission of the new land owner(s)? A surprising percentage of Americans are decent folks ya know....

Ya I Kevin I hear ya, the thing is I believe the person who has a problem with us is not the guy we talked to a few weeks ago. I think is the person trying to sell the 10 and 20 acre lots, that doesn't want us in there. California is a lot different than Co. People here are a bunch of as$holes that think they're better than everyone else.

Talk about timing, now there may be enough water flow through that drainage to pan and possibly even sluice (we've had more rain in the last 2 days than the past 24 weeks combined) You guys got a raw deal on that one Dan but then again, that stealth mission suddenly looks more doable. As soon as things quiet down some, one of the ladies or a buddy could drop you guys in and plan a pick up in the dark hours. I'm sure this has already been discussed.

Ya it pretty well sucks. Still don't think there would be much water as there are a couple of bone dry, acre sized ponds upstream. I am thoroughly enjoying this rain though.

Looks like two sets of night vision goggles are in order......

Plan B might be a trip to N. Cal?
