Pirate Treasure-Trying to get a permit to dig up

You and ECS could always come up with reasons/excuses not to dig. Bad odds. Bad dig contract. No verification of previous owner's wealth. Too deep. Too hot. Too cold. Bad back. Too old. No time. Skeered. (pick one) or I am sure you could come up with lots more...
A good thing for your search,Florida has many underground "man made" structures, septic tanks, cisterns, etc, and you have only dug two! HH

What??? I thought that you said that you knew the EXACT location of the diamonds, gold and silver. :dontknow:

And the glass is not always either half full or half empty. Sometime it is just empty. Like holes.

V
...or its always two more feet down,or two feet over,or the backhoe broke,or we ran out of time,or it once was there but is now long gone,or didn't get a Burma Shave-there is always a reason for an empty hole and no treasure at an EXACT spot.(pick one)I am sure BDD can come up with lots more"

Hang on in there Bigdogdad, Rootin' for ya'.
I'm persuaded, if this particular one is not the "Big One",
you Will find Another "Big One" ...Crosse

If another dig is scheduled for Saturday it should be cool with the cyclone coming in. I dug up a fancy
step for a carriage once while it was pouring rain. I really had the treasure bug back then. I just knew
there had to be buried treasure on that 34 acre spread and I didn't even have to get permission. But
building a house took up too much time to dig all of it up.

The deepest hole I ever dug was for a septic tank. I got down to a layer of clay that was robin blue.
It was mighty tough digging through that pretty blue clay. You couldn't go rent a backhoe in those days.
You would think with all the construction tearing up the world there would be treasures of gold, caskets
of silver coins and diamonds, yes diamonds and jewels of every color found every time a house was
built.

And think of the pipelines stretching hundreds of miles, why don't those guys strike it rich ever week or
so? I guess they just miss it by a foot or two never knowing how close they came.

ECS and vor can sit on their high horses, lastleg on his ass (mule) and make fun of me because that may be all they know how to do. This is the Cache Hunting forum, not the Cache finding forum. I have never claimed to have all the answers, in fact I am the first one to tell you I am no expert and constantly make mistakes. I am willing to try whatever method I can to figure out where to dig.

I have repeatedly asked ESC for the ideal scenario for using research to figure out EXACTLY where to find a cache of treasure. Still no answer from him after two years and 2124 posts. I have asked vor over and over again what detector he uses to find his buried caches of treasure and have still not received a reply after 2124 posts. In his last post lastleg say the deepest hole he ever dug was for a septic tank. I am assuming he was installing one and not looking for treasure in one but with lastleg's stories it is sometimes hard to tell what he is trying to get across.

You three are great at making fun of my efforts but not so hot in giving any advice that will do much good. ECS-Please give us the details of how you have used your research skills to locate and dig up a hidden cache of buried treasure. Did you find a diary giving the exact location to dig? Did you come across a treasure map with an X marking the spot to dig? Did you research records to find out where some rich guy lived so that you would know there would be treasure buried on his property? Same for you vor, and please tell me exactly what detector you used. Hopefully it wasn't some boat anchor. lastleg, please share just one story of exactly what process you went thru to find one of your varied and many caches of buried treasure. You three are the experts so please share your vast knowledge with us. Some pictures would be nice too.

I guess the lamp of gold was my favorite. Now this was a find in a deserted ghost town. I researched every
source I could find, mostly libraries, about that place. I found photos of how it used to look, the old hotel's
brick walls still stood. Next to it I dug a ring that had obvious fire damage, several fires had devastated the
settlement miners lived in. The ring had an onyx setting carved with a Roman centurion with headdress.
After each fire the miners would build cabins further away from town. But even then a wood-heated cabin
could go up in flames anytime fire was used indoors. Because of a fired cabin I dug up a miner's cache of
gold. The nuggets were hidden in a lamp, the fire melted the gold all over the lamp and looked like butter
dripping off a cob of corn.

BDD reason you don't get my humor is you haven't learned to smell the roses.

Great story. I know you must have taken a photo of your favorite find. Please share it with us. I get your humor, I find most of your posts amusing. I rarely pass by a rose bush without stopping to smell the roses. Thanks.

I just got one of them new-fangled mobile phones, they told me I could take a picture with it. I'll
see if I can learn to post photos. Have a great day Bud.

You may need a cord to plug into the phone where you charge it and the other end plug into a USB port on your computer. Or you could send to your e-mail and save in files and post from there. Would love to see the pics. If you need any help let me know.

One of my best finds was a pouch called a "housewife" with Civil War buttons and a lock of hair found after some shacks were demolished in Lemon City (Miami's first settlement) along the railroad tracks.. You want to see? One of the buttons a rare Confederate Navy officer button.

When treasure was buried long ago they had no idea that metal detectors would come into existence. For thousands of years people have been dowsing. I have been told that it is mentioned in the Bible. The Spanish had dip needles for locating things. I am working with both modern and ancient technology. I don't know if there is actually treasure buried at this site or if it has been over 100 years, but if it is there I hope to recover it. Thanks for the wish of good luck.

I have one of them weather sticks to the right of the thermometer. I think it's from a spruce tree from the North Pacific area. When it is erect the weather is dry, when it is limp it points down. Which means it is going to rain! And All without the dowser!
Dowsing definitely works for finding water!
Cistern?
I mean.. Cheers!

Actually water is not to hard to find in Sarasota Springs. If my guy was just dowsing for water it would be a different story. We are in search of large amounts of gold and silver. I do think Releventchair makes more sense than most. He is actually trying to help unlike the "Initial guys". Since the whole SEPA thread appears to have been a hoax lets please not get into it here. Very few people reading this thread would have any idea what you are talking about. Perhaps you and vor can PM each other about patio lions.

There are much more important things to talk about. BCH is really wanting to see my Brown Recluse Spider bite and you said that is why you are now reading this thread.

The good news is the bite wound is looking much better. DSCN0170.JPG The bad news is the infection has now spread to my face. Image19.jpg

I just had a great phone call from one of my LRL guys. I will be bringing him to a number of the new sites. It is all part of my learning experience. What I will be doing is getting him to within 500-1000 feet and letting him set up his equipment. I will use my GPR and compass to plot everything on a map. I will eventually make a big circle around the potential treasure sites. The object will be to try to triangulate his readings to see if and where they cross. I believe they will all cross in the spots where I have been led to. Since my LRL guy will not have a clue of the direction the sites are at any time during this experiment it should be quite interesting.

It is possible that he will not pick up any signal at any of the locations. There is only one way to find out. We will not be looking for anything small and I only want to register the biggest hits which I know he is capable of discerning. He is the one that I witnessed from the back seat of a car leading himself into Fowler's Bluff and eventually ending up at the pirate chest site. I had never been there and did not know where we were heading. There were many other things we did together including me taking him to Cloud Mountain in the Everglades. His device led him to a location that was within 30 feet of where Ovid led me to 22 years ago.

I posted extensively on BCH's (Bigcypresshunter's) Swamp Gold thread on the Legends forum about my involvement with Ovid and the two genius LRL guys back in 1992. I also had taken other LRL guys there. One of their units pointed right at the spot and another on a different trip was inconclusive. My Miccosuki pal Duane had been asking me when could we start putting together the dig. Unfortunately he just recently died.

100_2546.JPG BCH-find this spot at Cloud Mountain and you will be near the treasure. I have another contact down there that wants to continue this adventure. He is also allowed to dig. If you find this PM me. I took the picture. I am giving you a chance to be part of it. Of course you may decide you don't need me.

BigDog, Is this true? If so, what are your doctors saying my friend? I have never seen it so bad.

The picture on the left is current. The one on the right was actually from a long time ago. I had a really bad case of acne. No, really is was a chainsaw accident. No, it was a car wreck. No, my dogs bit me. OK, now I remember, it was when I was made up with makeup to play a part in a horror movie. I played the part of a zombie. I am just trying to be funny like my new bud lastleg

You should soak the leg in the ocean water if you can. Let the little fishys nibble at it, it wont hurt it. Also continue your antibiotic treatment if you have any pills left..

Did you check to see if anything is inside the concrete plug?
