new show on the dutchman

When a young lad in the 50's our family used to drive near the Superstitions on the way to the lakes. They always looked dark, like basalt to me. What is the geology of them, like predominant base rock?

Quartz stringers?
Pegmatites?
Volcanic?

I plan to watch it for the scenery and sake of my friends, and to guess what they will do next
That's exactly why I'm watching it too Wayne and it isn't disappointing at all so far :)

Seems ironic that a day after Valentines, hearts are a dime a dozen.:laughing7:

Yes they are Homar..... hearts-a-plenty !
And very confusing to a THr
But the only ones you really need, are those you hold dear.
Like the one on this Templar gravestone.

That's for sure Wayne, and I believe it was on an email to the late Jim Hatt that I signed off "Con El Coazon En La Mano" ( With Heart IN Hand )

Homar

Yup. Just one of many examples of a heart style dating back to at least the time of the Templars.
Many examples of which are carved into the walls of Royston Cave.
Adopted and used later by the Jesuits, same as the "Valentine" heart we know today.
Yet some "experts" tried to claim that heart shape didn't exist until the 1800's.

Is Luigi Franchi Prestige

Still a nice scattergun. The Italians sure made some beauties.
I see that Franchi is a division of Benelli, and both are owned by Berreta...Didn't know that before.
Have you been able to see the TV program ?

Use of the heart symbol began in Europe 10,000 or so years ago. It's meaning may have been something different then or not.

Strange,

"The nuclear scan of a 66-year-old patient with a history of coronary artery disease was recently reviewed. There was an incidental but surprising finding (Figure 1A): the short-axis slices of the nuclear scan clearly depicted the symbolic heart shape (). This created interest because the heart generally has a classic round shape on nuclear scan short-axis slices"

That's news to me. Can you post some examples of 10,000 yr. old hearts of the same shape ?
I've looked at a lot of old world art over the years, but don't recall anything similar of that age.

Could the disease have had something to do with it ? Since they also found the scan to be unusual.

The heart symbol, the popular icon for the heart, can be traced to before the last Ice Age. Cro-Magnon hunters in Europe use the symbol in pictograms, though it remains a mystery exactly what meaning it held for them. The symbol will not become universal until the Middle Ages.

Disease yes, they did write incidental.
This will help with the heart symbol.
