new show on the dutchman

Sorry, your post read as if you were preparing to do battle. I simply did not want someone reading it to think that anything goes in the SWA. And for those people, another approach to exploring the SWA is as a minimalist. Taking only what one needs to survive. Leaving behind no trace. Go there with good intentions and respect and leave wanting more.

No you just took it that way, but thats ok. If someone else took it the wrong way, then they evidently read it wrong. When I have ventured out into remote areas, I pack what I can and I don't pack light. Anything can happen. As far as the guns and ammo goes, lets just say some wildlife isn't going to have me for dinner in case they think they are going to! Same thing when I told the producer that called me for the Tusk Hunters show, when he asked me about myself having an issue going out alone looking for Mammoth Tusks and I clearly told him, if his film was coming with me they better pack some lunches because they would need it and I wasn't coming back until I found one or a few.

John mark your correct. The triangle on the stone maps area not only sits at the head of a waterfall but their is a old mine in that exact spot. The waterfall runs in the direction of the slot carved into the triangle. One day if you so desire I will show you

I would be down for that too.

Understood.
Be safe and leave no trace.

It an unlikely scenario but it does happen.
I would argue that if your stalker is close enough to kill with a sidearm you will not have time to react. The only true safety is in numbers.

I have to wonder what you were trying to get across with that. How does that compare to machete attack or .30-06 from 300 yards?? What do you see as the nexus between what you wrote and something relevant ?

Unless you are the first :D

I'm in, ill pack my large rucksack, a 24 pack of Schlitz, my best glass bong, 16oz of purified water, my flip flops and best tiger striped mankini. Pm me lets do this

Leaving no trace is not a problem.

True, safety in numbers are always good and best if you can have people go along with you. Most of the people I know, (at least the ones near where I live), don't do the things I go out and do unless it involes riding the Harley's out somewhere and hitting the local bars!

No matter where I am at I am always aware of my surroundings and who is around, I keep binos and NV scopes when I am out. If someone is stalking me I would have them lose my trail or I would lay in wait for them out of sight and find out what the problem is. I don't build campfires in the night to illuminate my body and surroundings, not even to stay warm. Fires at night is not a very good idea, it draws attention. I carry very big razor sharp knives for a reason. I don't just let strangers get that close to me out in the wilderness areas especially if I think they are going to do harm. I won't go into too much detail but I carry one firearm for defensive purpose only and it isn't that far away from my hand if I need to draw it out quickly.

I know things have happened anywhere. For years I always wanted to go exploring around the Superstitions Wilderness as well as other areas, but things haven't let me ponder out that way as of yet. I like going to remote areas just to get a feel of what it may have been like way back in the western days!

A couple of months ago when I was at Ft Huachuca I went 7 miles throughout the mountain range there by myself as no one else wanted to go. Found a few caves on some of the mountain sides off the trails but didn't go in them as I didn't have a firearm or flashlight but had one heck of a 5 ft hiking stick I had make out of oak a few years back for some sort of defense if I needed it besides my knife. When I get back out there next month I am going to bring some of my climbing gear with me and check out some of the caves that had tailing piles by them.

Hi Sarge

You wrote : " The triangle on the stone maps area not only sits at the head of a waterfall but their is a old mine in that exact spot. "

From my research , I believe the triangle is a cave which is on the top part of a bigger triangle shape . And for the waterfall , I believe after a heavy rain , some waterfalls could appear in the region .

Look at the first picture ! You can see the trail and below the triangle .

And the cave from another angle

Are you sure it is not a shadow like the shadows beside it ? To me, it looks like the edge of it follows a protruding rock. jmo.

I'm telling you what is there. Not what I think may be there

So , if I have understood , you are telling me what really is the triangle in the region where you believe is the trail , and not what is the triangle where really is the trail .

You have a map symbol and try to figure out what that symbol represents.
Could be many things
Or you work out the maps location and go to the site and see what is there at each symbol location. The triangle with a slot is a mine in a wash on top of a dry waterfall

Dont let them get to you sarge. Its hard for many hunters to let go of a idea.
I spoke to one you and I both know. He said I.was to far south. He couldnt allow himself to believe me despite the evidence that I saw with my own eyes.
Its just their way.

Ok. I read that his concern was a man eater- the Puma or, for some , the Mt. Lion. I made that assumption because I know of no other animal in the SWA besides the black bear that will prey on humans. Attacks are rare but they do happen. Is that the nexus that you were asking about? Then I suggested that if one is going to take you, you will never hear it much less have time to pull your pea shooter. If it's close enough to hit with your pistol, chances are your dead.

...Unless you hike with your pee shooter drawn. That would be sad.

I think that suggesting that there is safety in numbers more so than a solitary hiker with a pistol is completely relevant and true.

I take it you don't?

In the movies it's always the last guy in line who goes a missing.

When I have gone out by myself I will usually go a little ways in heavy thick trees, brush, and rocks, (something that would conciel me pretty good if someone was to see me from afar, climb up to a highest point if there is one), and stop and take a break. I will pull my binos out and I will scan everywhere around me to see if anyone or anything may be following me. I may sit there for 30-45 minutes watching before I will start moving again.

As I said but didn't go into detail, but many times I have packed a high powered rifle as well on occasions in case someone would have popped a shot at me.

I remember reading a story quite a few years back about a man in the 1970's who had all the info on the gold and treasures in Superstitions. He had a long time girlfriend and a best friend that he had shared some of his research with and he lived in Arizona. I don't remember if he was ill and dying, or something of that, but he ended up dead and some thought it was fowl play. All his reaserch came up missing, his girlfriend if I recall reading feared for her life or was killed.

But some shady people stole his research and there was named quite a few people involved in it.

I will have to find the link somewhere. I know I had saved it on my old computer but it crapped out but I still have the hard drive. It was definitely some pretty intersting read on the gold and treasures in the Superstitions.

I believe you are right Sgt! That name does ring a bell. I am going to get my old hard drives and find the info I saved. I know it was a really good read on the subject at hand and all what went on.

That whole Chuck Crawford mess is one enormously convoluted story from beginning to end. If you're a fan of the Coen brothers movies like Fargo and Barton Fink, you'd think they had a hand in putting together the cast and storyline - there are some seriously messed up folks involved in it all and I'm sure some of it's still going on.

If anyone were to ever write a complete book on Crawford's story, it might be twisted and hard to follow but I believe it would make for a heck of an interesting read!

Perhaps Mr Reinhardt would like to chime in on this topic. As a close Crawford family friend I'm sure he could provide some interesting information for you Harley Man

Yeah I did some research and found the link that was on this forum Daring Eagle posted. Never could figure out why the thread died out. Now that I remember that is where http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/l...4-dutchman-government-conspiracy-request.html I got it from and started researching all the info and the links that "used" to work that was mentioned in there. Pretty good interesting read. It defintiely got me interested in reading more about the LDM and everything involved in it!
