My best silver day...E.V.E.R... **UPDATE WITH VIDEO**

Re: My best silver day...E.V.E.R...

Are there any coins in this lot newer than 1837? Lots of theories on here on this thread/find, but here is mine. This was a hoard that was buried along the side of the river during the panic of 1837. Sometime over the past 170 yrs the cache was washed out and eroded by the river to the river bed and the coins were scattered on the bottom of the river over an area where you found them. Just my thoughts, it's so awesome I just have to keep coming back and looking!

I hope to see an episode on the history channel about this discovery some day. Absolutely incrediable find, arguably the best discovery (Museum quality) of it's kind ever in the U.S.

Can't wait to see the youtube video.

Re: My best silver day...E.V.E.R...

The only other post made on here that would even come close would be the guy who found 18? Double Eagles in a vacant lot in San Francisco. I believe it was about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. Anybody remember that one? Given the choice I would take this Silver Hoard. Thanks for sharing this with the Treasure Hunting Community.

Absolutely. All of them dated just prior to the SF Earthquake of 1906. The family that lived in that exact location perished in the earthquake inside their live-in business. For the next 83 years a different business stood on that exact location. Once it was destroyed in the Loma Prieta quake of 1989, the building was condemmed and eventually destroyed. Under that building a single double eagle was found as it fell to the street by a backhoe operator filling a dumptruck. 2 years later the 18 others were found by a team of 2 detectorists. The big mystery is . . How many of those double eagles went to the dumps in the dumptrucks before the left overs were found? :dontknow: They tried hard to find the dumpsite but were denied entry several times.

I still think this find is much more significant and epic than the $20 gold piece cache.

I'm going to sit here and have a silent moment in honor of the best find Ive ever seen on here. I was going to reply to the people that said you should have kept this to yourself, but I don't think they deserve a reply. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Going to have to concur here. I wouldn't post it myself but I would never tell you not to. That takes some big old buffalo cojones that I don't have. Kudos on the find. That counter stamp in and of itself is a really cool find. I'm surprised with as many coins that are there that there aren't more of them. Especially since the guy used any coins that went through his hands as a marketing tool. I'd go get yourself one of his bottles (preferably a rare color and variety) to display with the coin.

Re: My best silver day...E.V.E.R...

A banner vote seems kind of insulting for this cache. I vote to rename the banner the Aquachigger.

Congrats on making the Aquachigger!

Re: My best silver day...E.V.E.R...

Congratulations on simply an incredible find. You gotta love it when research pays off with a find like that!!

Re: My best silver day...E.V.E.R...

Absolutely incredible!!!!.... :o :o :o

I can't even dream of making a find like this!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us; this is very inspiring.
I'm sure those who have stated that you should have kept this quiet had your best interest in mind considering the greed of unscrupulous individuals out there who would like nothing more than to claim it as their own; heck I won't even get started on the potential for .govt greed..... >:( >:( as I don't want to get everybody down......

I hope this find brings you only happiness and prosperity!!.........
