Absolutely stunning find. I hope our government doesn't get involved and try to take it away from you. You put the effort and work into finding it, I believe it should be yours. What are the odds that some archeologist out there was planning to check that exact spot, or even that general area for what they believe to be historical significance items? I'd say almost zero. I'll never understand why the government thinks the need to own everything. Just doesnt make any danged sense! Heck, they probably wouldn't even display half of it, they'd most likely melt the majority of it down anyway.

Would just like to add my congradulations.What a great find.I hope to never have to sell any of my finds either.I told my kids when I go they should sell it all and have a great time spending the money.

I doubt he will come to this, but better safe than sorry. We are not talking about a few coins here, we're talking about something that every museum wants to show that you know something of historical importance. Reports can be like some people .... greedy!

Umm HELLO....that is definitely an 1807(?) Draped Bust half in there too. :hello2: What a staggering find, major congrats. :thumbsup: Yea I'd have a hard time getting motivated to hunt after that kind of an experience.

This is the best find, best post ever, anywhere on any forum. Simply incredible, what an amazing find. Congrats on recovering a lost piece of our nation's history. I'll be viewing this (read, drooling on my keyboard) for months and months!

:wav: holy cracker jacks my heart is racing just looking at this post i cant stop my self from laughing from the excitement, this is unbelavable, i am more exited then when i found my first large cent this find out dose every post on T NET EVER, it is so good that it dwarfs all other Spanish0 silver, capped, bust seated liberty find and so on and so on , the only better coin hoards i have seen are from the Odyssey team finding silver american and Spanish coin hoards, in fact the odyssey treasure ship hunting team may have to recruit you now. i can't wait to here this one on the news and see your video, did you get ant live digs? :wav:

I did a satellite search for your ford, and came up with some amazing satellite imagery.
This is the map I found, and something struck me as being rather peculiar!

I could sit here all day looking at your post, by far the most impressive coin cache i've ever seen. What you really need to do is organize and photograph each and every coin, and post it up for everyone to enjoy. And I have to agree with IronPatch, don't get rid of a single coin.
And with that much silver being found, i'd have to wonder if their was a few stray gold coins just waiting to be found. I'd head back there and dig everything that makes a sound!
