Misc data and adventures of a Tayopa treasure hunter

Hello Prospector77

Tempting offer indeed. But no running off on adventure for now as I have one closer to home. I have a little treasure chasing around the bedroom if I was quick enough.

Happy elk hunting...

Thanks Crow for the posts...they are certainly of great interest .But you know what I think,,if these paintings are moving in the crime world or already sold to private collectors in black market and hanging in a secret chamber of one wealthy elite ,,,it would be difficult to locate the paintings per se ,,,,but if one tracks the info somehow he can always tip off an information that leads to its retrieval and contend for the reward....the other is ,,,such pantings to ivade detection usually have a shabby picture drawn over them and if by chance or through the course of decades of hassling back and forth get misplaced and end up in the flea or antique market,,the best chance of detecting them as a layman is just to have information's of the exact width/length of stolen paintings...in practical terms it would be worthwhile to carry around the exact dimension information of such paintings with a ruler and check paintings in the market place routinely,,,and if you feel you get similar measurment just buy the paintings and try to check if there is another painting below(there are chemicals to do these to erase superimposed paint). It would be worth a try.Measuring paintings by rulers in markets is not strange as it seems you are trying to determine a frame ,,:),,,hence I would say the exact cm of length and width are crucial for such treasure hunting,

Hello TT Ya might find this treasure map of interest. It was taken from interrogation of Nazis by a military intelligence officer after the war by the organization that was the precursor to the CIA.

As the Russians closed in on Berlin, Himmler secretly thought about abandoning Hitler who was now a babbling madman. Himmler had sent his staff car south with gold and jewels where he intended to catch up with it to flee to Switzerland or to South America. However the bitter reality the Allies would hunt him down to ends of the earth committed suicide.

His loyal henchmen had orders if they could not make the area where the Nazis planed a last stand. They buried the loot. Unbeknownst to them by the time they had done so Himmler was already dead. They had fled and was captured as Nazis bt America field forces and interrogated. The 4 men fairly same version of approximate area where they buried the loot.

So in essence this is one of four separate map. Not all the treasure was recovered as far as it was known.

Hello chaps

Even you want to know how easy it easy to fool the 'experts', check out a chap called "Shaun Greenhalgh" who, along with his elderly parents, fooled, mocked and ridiculed the establishment by knocking out fakes in his garden shed. Not only paintings but such things as Assyrian reliefs.

Hello TT If you look on the map and names of towns and villages you will find it. After all its the thrill of the chase?

IPIU Thanks for the story. He is not the only one. Forging art is nearly as old as prostitution and grave robbing..They estimate 30% in museums are not real. The fake antiquities industry is nearly as big if not bigger than the real deal.

Anyway once again its late ya worn out old Crow his beak is drooping.

Good night....zzzzzzzzz

Also The names Eric Hebborn,Tom Keating,Elmyr de Hory and John Myatt also stand high in the annals of art forging history.
Some of these guys works are believed to be still hanging by the hundreds in Museums all over the world without being exposed to this day..

Have you guys heard that the Colombian president has made an announcement that a Spanish galleon called the San Jose that sank in the 18th century during a fight with a British ship, has been located off the coast near Cartagena. Its cargo has been calculated as being between $4B and $17B!

IPUK,,,the present initiative in Cosenza sort of kicked off last December in 2014 as I gathered from news,,coincidentally few months earlier in 2014 I was in the obscure town of Cosenza ,,,,I stood at the very legendary river contemplating on the Alaric yarn including the lost Menora ...but rest assured I was not working with the Mayor or anyone ,,.,,,,.I was there by myself 8-)
