Here is a picture of a coin we found that weekend. I think it is a little unusual and wondered if any of you had any opinions on what it is. It is considerably smaller than a penny. Any thoughts?

Hey gang,

Looks like a extremely nice Philip II...1/2 real.
I don't think this one is from Mexico, What does the reverse side look like?...does it have a cross w/ bars?

Chagy, the 1/2 that I posted is a Philip V.

Brad, this was our tag team coin. You heard the signal over a crack. I began digging after you swam on to other signals. After probing for awhile, it popped out. I almost didn't see it since I was looking for a bigger target.

I agree, Trez - it's not from Mexico. You have a V above yours and this one has a crown. Jason, pull your cob book out!

Skip came and took some more pics today.

Well Scotty Lee and Jimmy and I tried to go diving today but the swells were to big. We ended up towing the JW Fishers Puse 10 around the site and have some new ideas now about where to look. Can't wait for spring when we can start again seriously. Looking forward to diving with everyone.

Great Scott! I can't wait to hear about your new ideas, man. Looking forward to the big reunion this spring with all the new guys, too!

It looks amazing Scott - had a long chat with Crab and we're dying to get out with you. Beats freezing my *** off in DC this weekend...Cheers Mike

Hello Everyone
Just went back through this whole thread to copy all the pictures to put in an album with the same title in my gallery and I realized this was definitely my best weekend out on the site all year. Not that I didn't have a great time on other weekends, just that everything came together so well and everyone got along so well, the weather worked out perfect, the equipment did not fail us, there was treasure recovered, what more could I have asked for. And on Sunday when I showed up an hour late to the dock to take every one out to the site, I did not hear a single word about having to walk the plank, although I would imagine while you guys were waiting for me the thought might have crossed your minds.
I want to thank everyone who joined us this past year and say that I am really looking forward to what this year brings.

Well I put all the pictures in my gallery in an album entitled "Live update from Jupiter with Seahunter" and then I started to think this would be a cool picture show, so I am including a link to it. Just click on the slideshow button to the left of " The Chagyman" when you see his smling face.

Hope this works and let me know if you like it.

Man, I'm sorry I wasn't able to make the trip that weekend. I really missed out!
I look forward to seeing you, and everyone, all summer.

Posting it again here so it will be on page 3

Very nice, Scott. I had forgotten just how many pics were taken over that weekend. Looks like you've got them all. I can't wait for more times together, but it will be hard to beat that first one!

Godspeed!
Darren

Hi Darren
I have been thinking about that. We got so lucky that weekend. Of all the things that could have gone wrong, weather, scheduling, flights, equipment, boats, egos, testosterone, etc, but, it didn't. Being that lucky again is something to pray for. It is not always like that. Scotty Lee and Jimmy and I tried on Saturday and we were not able to dive, which was probably due to a very intelligent decision, since after towing the JW Fishers Pulse 10 around for a couple hours it was kind of hairy coming back in. We could of been having to try to pull anchors in the same conditions we drove back in. Driving is a little easier than pulling anchors I think. We still had a great time but if we had come from far away to dive and then could not, it would have been disappointing. I am always reluctant to try and plan anything with anyone when we are not in the summer months, for fear of the weather ruining their trip. I don't like to let people down. I am sure sooner or later some one is going to feel let down but I will just try to do the best I can. It is good hearing from everyone and knowing they all feel the same way we do about that weekend and would like to do it again. Looking forward to this year meeting new friends and working with old friends from last year.
Good to hear from you.

Again, I picked a terrible weekend to go to the Bahamas. I had never been there and even at the time I was wishing I was with you guys like I was supposed to have been.
We'll have a great summer.

Great finds and pics!

MY STORY

My story starts in 1965. I was eight years old and suffering from a congenital heart defect that would require open heart surgery to save my life. I spent a lot of my time in hospitals and doctors offices. The best part of going to the doctors office was going to Jones pharmacy next door after the appointment. This was where I first discovered Lost Treasure magazines. I would buy every one I could get my hands on and read them over and over again. There were plenty of stories about Bob "Frogfoot" Weller, Robert Marx, Mel Fisher and Art McKee just to name a few. Sitting around doctors offices and hospitals ,I had plenty of time to dream about hunting for treasure. Fast forward about twenty years later and I was finally ready to go to the Florida keys and buy a boat and start living my dream. It was right at this time that Peter Leo, a local lifeguard in Jupiter,Fl found the wreck believed to be the San Miguel de Arcangel. Peter was not allowed to use mechanical means of excavation for the first couple of years and was spending most of his available money on legal fees in the endeavour to finalize his claim to the shipwreck. Since I lived on the river close to the shipwreck it seemed logical to just help him and not have to move to the keys. The first couple of years I did everything I could to help. I provided as much equipment as I could such as magnetometers, metal detectors and hookahs and dove every chance I could. Some days we would dig for six or seven hours with shovel heads to find treasure for half an hour. It was exciting and I could not get enough. I would ignore my business and dive for days on end, all for free just because I loved it. After several years he was allowed to use boats with blowers and a friend of his cousin was the famous treasure hunter Teddy Tucker who very graciously provided a steel twin engine diesel boat outfitted with a blower and a deflector. This opened up a whole new world. I can remember laying under the boat with the blowers running with a hole being created and it would just keep getting bigger and bigger. Sometimes you would just see coins falling out of the walls as they got bigger. Some days we would bring up dozens of coins and the occasional artifact also. I did not see Peter for about ten years after that and I started thinking about it a lot and remembering that those were the most enjoyable times of my life. When I saw Peter again I asked him if he would sell me the shipwreck company so I could dive whenever I wanted. He had decided he was ready to move on and we were able to reach a agreement where I could take over for him and he would be available to consult and yet be able to persue his love of sailing. Peter and I went to the west coast of Florida and bought the boat we now call the "Seahunter" and spent a great weekend driving back across the state to Jupiter. This had always been my dream and without realizing it I had created my retirement plan where I could spend the rest of my life diving for treasure. A lifelong dream come true. Now I want to invite any of you who share this dream with me, to come share the reality of it with me and help me find the rest of the ship which has not yet been located.
