Way to go, guys! Thanks for the pictures. And I'm really not jealous at all ;D

Scott,

Sounds like your making pretty good progress with finding the coins eventhough the weather hasn't been the best. Are you still in the same area or are you working the new area that you mentioned in your past postings about Dragging the Mag and looking for the mother load. Eitherway, Cat and I are still looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the crew. As I stated previously, we will be staying just south of your location and will be there the beginning of June.

I saw in one of the other post, you mentioned that we did not need to bring a metal detector, are you sure, willing to bring one down if it makes things easier on you all, just let me know.

That's great Scott! I'll probably swing by and see you for a day or two on an upcoming trip, most likely the first few weeks of March. I doubt the weather will cooperate then, but we can hope. Regardless of the weather lets get together for dinner at least.

See you then,

Jason

Last Saturday Jimmy Webster pointed this out to me when we were leaving in a hurry due to weather. I thought he had found another cannon. Sunday Scotty Lee and I just had to go see. It turned out to be a dredge pipe. But the thrill of the hunt was just the same.

Looks like you've got a 1 reale and a few halves with that eight. Great job, guys!

You beat me to it Darren. I was gonna say, crop that belly out of the pic man!

Very nice finds. Really wishing I could have joined you

Was that the Chagyman's grandson I see?

Hello Bigcypresshunter
No, we have not found any timbers nor much wood at all to speak of. Which when I think about it is pretty strange. Weapons with wood stocks have been found by subcontractors on the wreck and the wood was recognizable. So was the boat smashed to pieces on a sandbar and all the wood floated to shore or is the bottom of the hull still on the bottom underneath a ballast pile. Or maybe the wood on the weapons survived because it was encrusted due to it having metal attached to it. Maybe when we find the ballast pile we will find some timbers. Time will tell. If we do I will be sure to post pictures.

Well we made it back in the water and Larry and Gary (Bigkid4) joined ScottyLee and myself today on site. Larry and Gary found four coins already and they are back down with Scotty. It will be interesting to see what comes up next. In the meantime here are a couple pictures.

;D Thanks for a great day Scott. It has been a while since I have done any real treasure hunting and I had almost forgotten how much fun and work it is. You have the right attitude and I’m sure there are many good finds in store for you in the near future.

Scott,,,looks like your doing good down there. I still want to come down but I told my son i'd wait till he gets out of the boys camp he's in, and we'd both come down.....21 more days ;D ;D.......keep up the good work, and I'll get in touch with you when he gets out.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing.
I was thinking about the lack of wood. I dont know what it means. Has any wood been showing up on the beaches after the storms? Many old black timbers and spikes were showing up out from the Treasure Beach sites after the past hurricanes. I saved a small piece of wood and some other stuff after hurricane Jeanne.(pic) There was wood pieces all over the beach. Have you found many spikes?

Hello Bigkid4
You were a pleasure to have on the boat and a huge help since you found most of the coins. Diving with you and Larry today reminded me of how lucky I have been. I have met and had the pleasure to dive with several dozen really great people. At least nine out of every ten have been Tnet members. You andLarry are welcome to join us any time you are in town.

It doesn't have to be envy. It could be camaraderie. You are only in New York. It's not Siberia. You are two hours away by plane. When the seas are calm this summer get on a plane and fly down here and dive with us. You won't regret it.
