Legend of the Stone Maps

i dont think it would be that great of a time for you...lol

Sure it would.
I enjoy a challenge.
We can make an overnight trip of it.
Pitch a tent, make a warm camp fire and take turns telling tall tales about our experiences in the Superstitions.

I would love to hear more about your pit mine adventures.
I wasn't interested when Ryan told me about it but, hearing it from the source might be fun.

Hey There, When is all This commonrotary taking place and how come I was not invited, Ohh and the only one in shape to tackle such adventure. I don't agree a good time for all is the way I travel.
So let's make a time and date to make this happen, I'm GAME!
LETS BUILD A SUPER TEAM OF DUTCH HUNTERS.

One of the first things I learned from my uncle, was.....never go into the Superstitions with someone you don't trust. That holds true for any wilderness trips. Just one of the things that newbies might not know.

Good luck,

Joe Ribaudo

joe..it sounds to me like they will have to figure that out the hard way

That's why I am USUALLY alone! HAHAHA

Now Joe and Azdave that's sure a easy way out. Now I would go in with you's two. Locked and loaded of course. But it seems your uncle made it many times Joe, and some I'm sure were pretty shady, well at least one I'm sure.

Wrmickel. And what was the price for the stones Travis was selling,

Pegleg is the person of interest. Where did the leather "ground map" originate? Did Pegleg find it, buy it, steal it or make it himself? If it is "genuine", did Pegleg spend time himself in the Superstitions? If so, what were his results? If he didn't search himself, why not - because the map is not genuine?

Was Travis and the Tumlinson family naive about the veracity of the ground map? Did Travis spend lots of time looking in the Superstions using the ground map, only to come up empty? What possible reason would Travis have for carving the stones, other than as props to go along with his treasure manuscript-book-movie idea? Was he frustrated with the ground map and tried to salvage the effort with the stone maps and book? Did he manufacture clues in the mountains?

Lots of unanswered questions. Travis isn't the ultimate source of this dog and pony show. Pegleg is.

Stats:

John Jackson (aka-Pegleg) TUMLINSON
Born: 1848 in DeWitt Co., Texas...... Died: January 31, 1920 - Sutherland Springs, Wilson Co., Texas
Burial: Steel Branch Cemetary, Stockdale, Tx.

A person of interest, obviously. And as the source according to these descendants, of the "hide/ground" map at least, should be considered important to this entire story.....which I do !
But we will have to wait and see what this and the other "new" maps have to offer, before I will make too many comments as to what they might be able to tell us about what went on out there in the Sups.Squiggly lines and symbols can be interpreted in too many ways, so I hope there is something more than more of the same.

Wayne,

Good points. No doubt Frank will be in a big rush to get that key information published........right after he walks every inch of the map.:dontknow: That's fine with me, as 1-inch is just about all I could walk these days.:sad10:

Take care,

Joe

Morning, I too am a loner. I learned the hard way. While my partner and I were on that trip into the Yucatan/ Quintanna Roo looking for lost Mayan ruins, one day while it was his time to cut and clear trail , he suddenly took off his backpack put it on the ground, then sat down with it as a backrest, rolled a cigarette, then said "it's no use Jose, we are going to die here" ?
and this with two cooked Chachalaka in our back packs ???

No argueing would get him moving, so I simply left him sitting there, gambling on his fear of being left alone and continued cutting trail..Shortly I heard him calling "Jose, where are you" - where but on the recently cut trail ? He soon rejoined me and we never mentioned that episode again, but it taught me a valuable lesson. ' since we are responsible for everyone in our party, it pays to chose carefully.

Maybe that is why I chose Oro de Tayopa, him I trust

Jose...sniff.....sigh..... you don't trust me....another sniff:dontknow:

'S'........Incidentally I have been having many thoughts about 'our' Amy, you remember our very clever lass. I gotta a strange feeling in my 'gut' that I may know who she is. Just a 'hunch' you understand. I am wondering if my instinct is so far out it's to 'daft' to say. What shall I do?

Hi, my Britland luv, where have you be keeping yourself ? Course I trust you, haven't I been keeping you up on the behind the scenes dealings on Tayopa?

"what shall I do "? pm me
