Got A Rock you Want Identified? Post it here! gimme a good picture or 3 or 4!

Hello everyone this is my first post, I'm pretty sure I got the right place.

I found this rock at a hard rock mine in the mojave desert that has been operating since 1970.
All entrances are sealed tight with bulletproof metal doors however there was a sighn that said they are still operating and plenty of Sighns of activity around, though no people.

I was respectful of there property and belongings however this caught my eye on the way out just laying in the road, any info would be much appreciated.

Looks like a quartz vein running in country rock (granite?).

Thank you for the response, is this something I would want to look for to find gold?

I'm not an expert either. You very well could be right. The more I look at it the more it looks like some type of chalcedony agate.

Yours appears to be all the same rock type just different variations of it. Alkali feldspar granite?

FIND THESE IN A SMALL CREEK IN THE CENTRAL PIEDMONT OF NC, COULDNT IDENTIFY THEM MYSELF THEY ALL SEEM TO HAVE A OPAL LIKE COLOR FLASH AND THE DARKER MINERALS ARE VERY WAX LIKE TEXTURE. ANY IDEA WHAT THESE COULD BE. THANKS

Maybe you can help me with this one. Light weight, non magnetic, found in a corn field in PA, looks like a piece of glass on the end. Metal detector went crazy when it passes over this one. I am thinking meteor but no magnetism?

Thanks for your help

I believe I have Iolite:

Input?

These massive deposits are about 10-15 lbs. each. They are in some sort of Mica/Schist matrix, kind of shale-ish.

That looks like Opal, not Hyalite though.

I could be wrong but Taptmining's rock specimen appears to be either Druzy Quartz or a Calcite formation (not unlike Stalagmites that form in caves) on what may be a Limestone/Mud conglomerate.

Thanks burntbear,

I had found some pieces of hyalite before near little Switzerland, i may try to take my uv light to it just to see. The color flash is not amazing but it is still noticeable. would a cab show the spectrum better. Thanks very much for the info

I found this in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania as I was taking a walk. Not sure what it is. I think maybe Agate. It is a little bit magnetic also. Anyone have any idea what this is?

banded rock with dogs face on it & another that appears to be a weight of a sort

Very unique and interesting slab I found in Jackson Co. Mi on a river bank. Clearly the face of a dog on it. Possibly made of Banded ironstone formation, or an Agate. Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.

The other that appears to be a weight of some sort found in Berrien Co. Mi by the St. Joseph River. It also appears to have rope indentations on the sides. Seems as though it may be from the stone-age or Paleo age not sure though. Thank you and any help is appreciated

Found on inlet beach in Deleware. Black, metalac, super smooth. Sharp edges.

Hoping to get a little more information on a few specimens I posted a week ago if anyone has any information on these specimens it would be very appreciated, I can provide more pictures and or description if needed. From the research so far I believe to have a type of opal... But would this type opal be considered of value worth pursuing mining the area thanks again.

That appears to be Opal and not a Hyalite variation either. I'd say go back for more! That last photo is nice. Opal does not always display a "play of color" either.

Here is a link to my recent Opal finds:
