Hi shellback, Welcome to TreasureNet!

I haven't seen dustedyou on here in a while, but there are many folks on here that can assist you. Sometimes, it may take a few days to get a response; but most of the time you will get a prompt response with helpful information for whatever finds you may come across.

Hello BurntBear,
Thanks I ran across a message saying about posting pics of rocks for I.D. Figured I'd give it a shot, found this a year or so ago and held on to it as it was pretty interesting... sure looks like it was shaped to me...

Hey nice find def looks like to me to be a primitive stone tool, could have been used for multiple reasons I am no expert but have my share fair of exp with arrowheads and things of this nature. If it is flint it's could be very old, but it still could be very old regardless, also could be quartzite. Looks like could have been used as a scrapper axe of a napper to make arrow points also could have been used to process grain or farming.

Thanks for the info IMCCALL, it's a blueish colored stone with lines similar to what a grain in wood looks like running through it.

Here's a pic of a piece of rock , what is it

Hate to bring this up again but Dusted Disapeared!

Maybe you can help me with this one. Light weight, non magnetic, found in a corn field in PA, looks like a piece of glass on the end. Metal detector went crazy when it passes over this one. I am thinking meteor but no magnetism? Thanks for your help
What about gelena? Or basalt ?

Looks like flint, or could be volcanic glass how hard is it? can it be easly chipped?
I live near butler pa and have seen a lot of that in my creek . It's smooth like chert. Very abundant here.

Hello everyone.

I have what I believe to be samples of nephrite jade or perhaps jadeite. There are a few other random rocks in there... one quartz and maybe others. Anyone have thoughts or comments if this assessment is accurate? Thanks!

Hey chriseneim,

Do you think your stone is similar to the ones I just posted? They look similar, but yours seems to be more polished / weathered, while the ones I found are chunky and have observable crystal structure.
