Anyone catch Gold Rush last night? It was a recap of all the seasons to date. Wow I had forgotten how little gold Todd and crew had gotten the first season of Gold Rush.

Yeah there was nothing else on so I watched it. Toad has always been terrible as a miner. Even the last couple seasons where he recovered impressive amounts of gold, he was running a huge amount of equipment and burning a huge amounts of fuel. I would be surprised if he netted 10% of the take as profits. PLUS his grounds were all leased so he was giving a % off the top to the owners.

Is it just me or is it a hard sell for this season? I mean every other commercial if for GR... even on other cable networks. Makes me worried when they do this.

Whatever float your boat. I have poker on Friday nights, once back home the DVR comes on. Not going to waste a Friday evening watching it live, plus I can blow through what I do not want to watch. I think many in here feel the same way... Set the DVR up to record the series and sit back and watch when I want and what I want.

I guess you'd prefer a more unrealistic version/portrayal of gold mining. Out of their mining season the good would probably be a 2 hour episode most likely. I'd expect equipment run under those conditions to break down a lot and it would be unrealistic to omit it.

I like the show. I root for Parker. Todd's a bumbling fool. Will be somewhat not the same without grandpa!

I thought I saw where the new season starts on October 14 2016 on Discovery. My DVR will record it anyway!

Today is the first day of season 7. Let us all say a prayer for Grandpa. He was the best person on the show. God bless him.

Tonight will probably be all about the kid crying over his grandpaw instead of gold Mining. even though he's been dead what ? over a year Now ? The Kids probably a Multi Millionaire now
if his mom ain't Hoarding his inheritance.
either way he'll still be crying Poverty to his crew
every time something goes wrong.

and I couldn't care less about beets if I tried.

And the show started filming at the funeral. Jeff must not realize that the show airs well after its filmed. Some people just like to be mean to people they disagree with or are judgemental of for shallow reasons. That kid didn't become such a pro equipment operator because production paid him. I totally understand his political stance against Tony and it seems that Tony gets it too. Greedy business vs. smart business. Parker is smart.

Judging the whole show while only taking in 30% on purpose and criticizing....that makes perfect sense.

The dredges are kind of cool I guess. Seems like it's both costly and somewhat a challenge to get them operational again.

Wouldn't the dredge leave a lot of heavy gold in depressions, cracks, etc in the bedrock?

I was excited to see the Todd crew, mostly because they are mining in my home state. But I hate how the whole show is fabricated. Todd went too lease the land last fall and tested 100 yards, getting 1.7 oz. Looks good right- well the brothers say they have not been doing anything on the land except small scale.

Fast forward to this season premier and turns out they have a huge operation going- since 2014. And they are in charge, Todd's just there for grunt labor.

Should have shown us the big operation from the start, not make it look like 3:16 mining is the first big operator there.

I did like that Parker built his own sluice machine. Kinda surprised at his decision to limit the haul. But he has a point, and Tony is being stupid for the show's sake, IMO. 15% of something is better than 25% of nothing. I kept wishing parker would make that point.

Todd is such a complete failure and loser. I hate that he's the producer and more or less owns the show so they can't get rid of him.

Remember everyone these are paid actors that are mining or miners being paid as actors. Either way its made for TV and to appeal to all. Sure they could do away we the drama or added film clips from pass shows or watch 1 minute and back to another commercial but its the advertisers who are paying the bills to put the show on the tube. Bering Sea is a total joke and can't stand to watch. That show only has one crew that knows how to mine and now that crew is mining the idiot miners.

Well sadly Parker and his family had dealt with lots of pain. Twenty days after John passed away Parker's grandmother passed away.



Erma Schnabel died April 8, 2016 at Mercy Retirement Home in Oakland, Calif. She was 87 and suffered Diabetes, Parkinson's Disease, and Macular Degeneration. Her husband of 65 years, John Schnabel.

Pertaining to # 896, Todd got con again. He wanted to go back home. As I stated on this forum, Since there was so much gold taken, there is little or no gold left. If there was, the owner would not lease the claim to Loser Todd. His part of the show was planned. If you purchase or rent or lease machines, you test them out first. Before Loser Todd had sign the lease, he should had test the machine. It was all unreal, only when waiting to start started, did a man found two cheap locks which did not belong there. Loser Todd should had called the owner and demand his money back or demand to know why his machine is lock, and he should had broken the locks, and start working. Then another big surprise, two men show up claiming that they had work the claim and asking to be hire. Then Loser Todd hire them and claim all are family members. Remember is a small clip, Loser Todd wanted his so call family member, staff members want to work for two weeks for nothing. Would you want to work for nothing? Do you want to work for Loser Todd? If yes, he is seeking workers to work for free or very little money. Loser Todd is not the producer or full or part owner. Beer, Loser Todd and Parker do receive a lot of money to do the show. I like Parker girlfriend. More of her and less of Parker, Mommy should cut his hair. His family members also get pay to be on the show. I doubt Loser Todd will last the season, and it will be all over with his gold mining. Will see the whole season.
