When you come into the "What Is It" section of t-net you are entering into the realm of some of the sharpest minds that collectively create thru their time and effort one of the most powerful search engines available on this planet so it is best to always be up front from the beginning. They do not let much slip thru the cracks. If it from this world they can identify it or tell you how to get it identified. Pretty cool huh?

very interesting ,im sure there was something strange going on for sure , if anything do you recall what the color of the metal looked like? as the item i have has a very strange color to it. not like any metal i have come across also when you hold it , it seems oily like as if it was dunked in oil but it wasnt its weird i know, i dont exactly know how to explain what im trying to say if you nknow what i mean its actually like you can feel the minerals in it ?dont know if i made any sense or not!!

i understand and i really like this sight. its amazing the things people have found and posted on this sight, and everyone is very helpfull which i appreciate very much!!it is cool and thankyou for your input and i apologize to all tn members for not being completley honest with details of where i found it e.c.t but want to thank all for your input and can tell this is the sight to go to when you need something identified thats for sure!!

Not from this world? You didn't put it in your pocket did you? It could be radioactive ! :o

Either that or it's a zinc anode that came off a boat. They do have boats in Bantam Lake, no?

Ok, the cat can't help herself.... :laughing7: Ya'll are all really too much sometimes, maka me laughs and laughs... :laughing7:
Didn't see your other thread, don't know much about viking, indian, early settlers tools and instruments.......
never found a ufo, or a piece of one, so..........

If you don't have a metalurgist or can afford one, perhaps, you have a jewelry dealer or someone who buys jewelry (gold, platinum, etc.....) that may have one of those spectrometor-ography machine thingys, that if it will fit into it, the machine can read what kinda metal it is. My guy that buys gold has one, here in Fla. I gave him a 14k designer signed enameled ring. When he put it in the machine thingy, it said it was made of irridium. Well, duh, irridium is used in enamelling. He still wouldn't buy it. No biggy for me, it's a signed piece by a known jewelry maker..
SO, I'm just saying, try that route. If the piece is too big, see if you can break, saw, or hack off enough of it, to fit in the machine, and get a "read" on it. Or post it in the paranormal section and maybe BB can pick something up off of it! LOL! (sorry) :laughing7:
just a little hairball, I thought I would offer up. Good luck! :laughing7::cat:

Just take it back to the lake, and lay it to rest at the deepest point....Along with yourself :laughing7:

and also i never got to take it anywhere, because really where could you take it? i dont have hundreds of dollars to have it anylized e.c.t..... but if anyone can shed some light on it you are more then welcome!!!

Here you say you "never got to take it anywhere" YET in you original post where you played Jeff, you said, "Hello i found this while metal detecting. ive took it to several antique stores , they all have the same story that it is iron, it contains another mineral, it seems to be from the early middle ages, none of them know what it is.in the process of talking to a musuem by email...."

There are so many inconsistencies between your posts here and when you were playing Jeff, about where you found it, the condition it was in when you found it and what you did or didn't do to it afterwards, etc. that it is hard to sort facts from fantasy here. Sorta makes it difficult to wade through all the BS .. This is a case where the chicken that laid that egg is worth way more consideration than the egg itself.

ive taken it to antique stores yes but what could they really tell you, its not in there usual items they deal with so there wasnt much they could tell me . and also never took it to muesuem they dont take items in like that e.c.t thats what i was told. they dont anylizxe it test it e.c.t so no but i have taken it to a scrap yard where they tested it with there gun and it came out to be nickel, iron, thats what i know and all i know...

thanks for the input!!!

yes they do have boats that people bring to the lake just loike any other lake!!! but the item contains no zink thats the problem!!!

You know that because???
It's a sacraficial zinc anode. A lot like this one:

Looks as if it had been ground or sanded on. The anode theory looks to be the best bet but I'm sure that won't be a satisfactory id.
I have seen weights used in decoys which are this big. More specifically, sturgeon decoys which can be quite large and require ballast weight to sit properly in the water. Possibly anode repurposed as decoy weight? Either way, its totally not from this planet!

i see what your talking about but the coloring does not seem the same. ok just to stop this ufo junk it is metal from this world i agree with that until proven otherwise....unless i know it is not from this world i will no longer say it is ..... but it still is very strange very strange indeed.......

you are totally right i wish i had found something else but i didnt but you are totally right on that!!!

i guess if i had found an alien body plus the ufo to go with it id be in better shape lol but i get where everyone is coming from it is a piece of scrap metal unless proven otherwise!!!!

should i post this in the ufo forum?or extraterestrial metal forum just wondering ill go back but i think someone recomended it....

It looks like part of a broken airplane propeller that is pitted.

could be possible...thanks for the thought....and the input!!

i agree it seems the same in length, so you think it was one of those hammered into the shape of the item that is in question very possible, thanks for the input
