i see what your talking about but the coloring does not seem the same. ok just to stop this ufo junk it is metal from this world i agree with that until proven otherwise....unless i know it is not from this world i will no longer say it is ..... but it still is very strange very strange indeed.......

You want to mark it as solved as junk metal from this world until you can prove it is not from this world?

if i did that then i would be calling my own item junk... which it is not so no i would like to move this item into the ufo forum, and see if any one there thinks this item is a possible space meateorite or something other then junk metal of this earth....i only said that beacause i never went on about ufo bs and never stated that it actually was.......

if you go to the meteorite forum that bycepress hunter showed us in his comment you should read the last comment on it Might be meteoritic material but obviously hand-shaped. The "flow lines" are probably file marks. TTC at least this person thinks it might so thats a possibility

not saying it is only stating that there is a possibility that it is am i correct?

I seem to recall from one of the original posts that you ground it down (cleaned it up), Diaz. I does look as though a grinder was taken to it.

If so, there'd be no harm in doing a spark test. That would be the easiest way to see the general metallurgical composition. Search "spark test" on google and you'll find a ton of info.

PS I don't think there's anything closer to this shape than the aforementioned hexagonal mandrel: http://www.stachurawholesalegemstones.com/images/upload/64da87294dbf2a939b61173c899f0a68.jpg

I seem to recall from one of the original posts that you ground it down (cleaned it up), i never grounded it down and i never said that i said i took a knive and scraped the rust off, which i never really did . item was just covered in mud i washed off in sink with spounge.....looked like it does now after being cleaned and i never took a grinder to it or a file or anything in that nature

but the shape looks the same except mine is way wider and thinner.....

does this sight have a extraterestrial forum or ufo forum?just wondering

I also remember you saying you scraped it with a knife and broke a pea sized piece off the tip with pliers. . You never admitted to using a grinder but I dont see how it could be rust free found in a lake.

Its similar to the drift posted by Ammon. The drift posted by SBB was a wider closer match and the tool is used to forge the tapering hole or eye in a pickaxe. SBB also found a pickaxe with the exact shape. I cant find the pic SBB found but the drift is used in this manner. Tapering handle hole with drift « Gulf Coast Blacksmith Association

I posted on the meteorite forum to ask Terry to please explain his comment because I dont know why he said it. Everyone else told you no, it is not a meteorite. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/294437-meteorite-projectil.html I dont understand why anyone would make a wedge size tool or weight from a meteorite and if they did, it would no longer have the dimples or so called regmaglypts because they would be hammered or grinded away.

I have a few questions.

Will a magnet stick?

How deep was the water you found it in?

Was it at the boat dock, swimming hole, fishing hole or what?

Was in under the muck?.

What detector did you use?

What was the exact date of the find and why did you choose Bantam Lake?

Thanks

BTW I doubt its related to the April 10, 2012 UFO incident at Bantam Lake because I think you posted it here earlier. (not sure)

Just a small point, but this would be easier to follow if you 'pressed' '''reply with quote', instead of replying to yourself.

Help us out a little. What type of area was it? You were looking for coins and jewelry, was it a picnic area? A place were fisherman gather? Boat docks?

BTW the date of your find coincides with the date of the UFO sighting. The UFO sighting was April 10. 2012 and your 3rd thread was April 20 but you had already been entertaining us for several days, maybe a week. So the dates of the sighting and your unknown find match almost perfectly.

How deep was it or was it laying on top of the ground?
