cw0909..........Thanks for the suggestion. By "special" Olympics are you referring to the Paralympics, i.e. international Olympics for athletes with disabilities ?

I was looking at bigcypresshunter's reply #930 on this thread and his pic of the colored plastic gonggi set.

If we could find out who makes the colored plastic variety, they might be able to suggest one or two companies that could be making cast metal ones. I would think their sales people, who know competitors in their industry, could name a few possibilities.
I think thats a great idea! The same company may have made pot metal ones as well in the past, if not now. Someone should buy a set, if necessary, to get the company's name. One problem, and I may be wrong, but Piggy refuses to believe that they are gonjji stones, so that ended the research in that direction.

Aw, now don't be too hard on him bigcypresshunter ........he's really not that hard to convince. He just wants absolute, conclusive, incontestable, incontrovertible, indisputable, indubitable, irrefutable, positive, undeniable and unquestionable proof :evil5:..........that's all !

Well, here's the latest on my inquiry to Gamebuilders Division (My previous Reply#944).

See attached copy. I cut & pasted these Emails in chronological order before scanning.......read from top down.

All I can say is they did reply. ::)

cw0909,

Paralympics and Special Olympics are similar in one respect, but different. See attachment below, copied from Wikipedia, the FREE information source.

in other words..."we don't have a clue but we will sell you something" :sad5:

savant365,

What tics me off is he didn't even address the context of my Email at all, just ignored it and then had the nerve to try to sell me. Even after I prompted the guy and asked if he read my Email, he still came back with the same sales pitch...unfrigginbelievable ! ::) Most of my PiggNut inquiries never get a reply and then when I do, it's like someone from Tardania ! :tard: :laughing7:

Dear PiggNut Club Members,

I salute all who are still "hanging in there" at this juncture, both workers and watchers !

After creating and sending an Email with photo/text attachment recently, asking for help I.D.'ing the PiggNuts, I thought it might be helpful to post a few examples or "Tools" that some might find helpful and encourage them to earn their worker badge ! ;D

The photo tools are presented in two additional reply-posts following this message. I did it this way to provide clean images for copying to your computer files and attaching to Emails later on, if this is helpful and agreeable to anyone.

The photo with a clean area above the PiggNuts, is titled "Photo #3a". The photo with my personal text above the PiggNuts is titled "Photo #3b" and is just an example, although feel free to copy and use the text verbatim or modified to your taste, just be sure to remove my name at the bottom.

A text tool some of you might find helpful is the following step-by-step method I used on my computer to add the personal text in the clean area above the PiggNuts in photo #3a. Although some of this might not apply exactly to your particular computer program, hopefully, it will be of some help to those who have the desire, but lack computer skills to get more involved in the game here.

My method:

Step #1...Save photo #3a to your computer files, such as "Documents". etc..
#2...Open saved file for screen display.
#3...Open displayed image for editing (I use right-click drop down and select "Edit".
#4...Use whatever click-on feature allows you to type text in the clean area; my computer gives me an
icon. Then, forbestappearance, the phantom-line text box should be enlarged and centered over
the image of the PiggNuts. I've found that the easiest way is to position your control, then drag
diagonally down and to the right simultaneously. Then make any necessary adjustments.
#5...Type your personal message into the outlined text box.
#6...Use right-click drop down and select "Text tool bar". Then select "File" from Tool bar.
#7...Select "Save As" from File drop-down and enter desired name for this new file.

You are finished ! Now you can upload and attach the new file to an Email and send it to a source of your choosing, asking for help with I.D.'ing the PiggNuts !

I hope this will help members to get more involved in the PiggNuts game and join the ranks of those who proudly display their WORKER badge ! :icon_salut:

After spending the most part of my morning reading all the replies to this post. I have not seen if Piggman has asked any of the neighbors in the immediate vicinity, other than the schools and local businesses, if they had any comments or recollections of what game may be played on that weird field? Or if they may be able to help with the identification of these mystery objects? To me, they look like gamepieces for an underwater game played at the school pool.

Its a wonder there has been no exact match being that they are not even old. (2002)

Yup, big mystery bigcypresshunter. I was going to use my modified letter & photos #3b this evening as an Email attachment and send to every Octagon location in North America ! But, the website doesn't list Email addresses. Do you know of a way to get Email addresses free on the Internet ?

This guy looks like a swimmer to me. Looks like you have it upside down... Maybe???

You've done it now! Now we have to search all over again, it appears this one is painted....... ;D

look at the others with the image upright and then flip it is the image upside down or right side up(like a coin).... do it with all of them,,, are they stamped the same? back/front
maybe this can tell you which way is up.

You found some more of these things ??? ???

Others have found references to plastic ones, even some pictures of them. No one else has found or heard of the metal ones, besides these that have all been found lost in 2 field areas. Are they a one-of-a-kind set??????

Has anyone done research of the area in which they were lost to see if any special activitiy went on that year in the location that they were lost. Years 2001,2002,2003,2004.

Newspaper...TV coverage...maybe a foreign
dignitary came through the town and maybe had time to tour the town with his family in tow.

Maybe a foreign athelete showing up and practicing with kids.Any sports card shows or conventions????Any
pre-Olympic tryouts??

Some body had them and lost them. I don't think they were buried on purpose other wise they would all have been together in one specific spot in some kind of container or wrapped in something.A child would lose their stuff while playing in the fields. Don't think an adult would lose so many of them before reaching for keys in the pocket and finding them gone.

Could be the swimmers one,the small round part is his head under the water and his outstretched arms in the water.

" The truth is out there."

If they were foreign from overseas kids, maybe the local kids( well.Hispanic immigrants here without correct papers) were harrassing them and the foreign kids used them to throw at the "local kids", to try and persuade them to quit bothering them.

Or, Instead of dodgeball............dodgeGongi.......

Just throwing out some thoughts.......(they might be as off..... as I am....) :icon_jokercolor: :tongue3:

And you are correct as to if you don't know what type of game was played, then you don't really believe they are Gongi stones. :icon_scratch:

Slingshot fodder?
