Whoo Hoo,
I can hear the gears turning in everyones head. :tard:

Here is another clue I forgot about. The oval on one of the game pieces looks just like the olympic arena in Pusan. Check out the birdseye view online.

It,s obvious these are Illegal or legal commemorative pieces celebrating ALL the events in S. Korea or more locally Pusan that year. They could also be a small lot commisioned by a local buisnessman/Politician for gifts or retail. Just had a brain fart. What is S. Koreas primary precious metal. They could have been plated with it. Anyway, that,s all I got. I have spent alot of time searching for an Asian game maker that might make these, but there are millions of hits on google. Maybe someone will get lucky and put piggmans find to rest.

but why the olympic rings,,, race car,,, and the other sports balls shown... weird

I"MMMMMM BACK!! I see that we have had a lot of new responses added, and a lot of new research done on these..........and we still don't know for sure what they are. Notgittinenny ask if I had contacted any of the locals around the area, schools, etc, and the answer is yes. Only to come up empty handed. I now have 8 of these, I still send out request for information, and I still show them to every age group of people I find. I haven't had time to get out and search for more in quite awhile. I don't think the world could take me finding more. :D It really shocked me to see all the new people and replies to this subject. I thank each and every one of you for your research and inputs into this. It just amazes me that there has not been a single one like them found, seen, or known of. Keep up the FANTASTIC work, all of you. I really do appreciate all that has been put into this.

Here are pics of the front and backs of all that I have found. I think I am going to run them through the tumbler for more cleaning, and then we may be able to make out that one unknown symbol. Who knows, it may be the clue we have been looking for.

also don't gnoggi( or what ever they are called) stones come in sets of 6?

so its either 2 sets or something else

race car could not be any different than the world cup or olympics.....

these must have to do with Korean sports in general....

hmmmm maybe they are connected to a Television network and those are the sports they cover.... grabbin at straws I know but what the heck

that last unknown nut is key,,, what if you buff it?

I'm afraid with my luck, I would buff off more than the deposit I am trying to remove. The last two found were not cleaned as good as the first ones, so I am sending all of them back through the cleaning process which should remove the deposit on that one, and maybe reveal something unseen on the other ones. It will be a few days before we will know. I will post pics after this cleaning in case we missed something on any of them.

Maybe this is something from what they call "forbidden archeology". The year on these things is not 2002 AD, it's really 2002 BC, just like batteries they find in veins of coal, etc.

Read Hemisteves post #984. Everything has been explained, including Grand Prix racing at the 2002 World Cup Asian games held in Pusban, South Korea. The 2002 Korean World Cup momento pins being sold on EBay are too close of a match to ignore.
I'm sorry but I didn't see anything explaining the auto racing and world cup connection.

And How do the olympic rings fit again?... I missed that one also.

I have stated I agree with the pin being the same as the 1 nut

Where did you hear that? They come in sets of 15.
it was a question(?)not a statement.

ADDED: I dont know why some refuse to accept the writing on the wall. :icon_scratch: They are obviously connected to the 2002 World cup in Pusan, South Korea. I believe the Asian games held in Pusan are a prelude to the Olympics. I have always believed these to be souvenir shiny plated pot metal Gonjji stones. They have the exact size and octagonal shape as the plastic ones. The only thing left to do is find an exact match. I say great research Hemisteve.[/color]
I e-mailed the 2002 World Cup pin seller on eBay but received no response.

sorry I honestly didn't mean to rattle your cage ::)

I'll go back to what I was doing its suddenly much more enjoyable, later

I agree, that is a great assumption, but I can't have the only ones that made it through, or there is a picture of. Somewhere there has to be some form of recognition, or someone that has the answer. That has the exact same thing.
As of yet, that has not been found.

I am posting a $50.00 reward to whoever can show me pics, and the site where I can check it out myself as proof exactly as to what these are. Not something close, the EXACT same as what I have, not plastic ones either. And to you computer geeks.....no made up pics, there has to include a legitimate site for ALL to see. This, I would imagine, would show the ones that I have not found also. I will verify the info before issuing the reward. Good luck all, and good hunting.

Been there, done that. No luck.

Good to see you Back Piggman1 I hope all is well

Did anyone guess snap on license plate screw caps? They're not threaded, they come in a kit/ set of 4 they have all types of themes and shapes and sizes.
Here is the kit so you see how it works

The hex nuts caps are 6 sided . The piggnuts are Octagonal (8 sided).

Being 8-sided makes piggnuts so hard to figure. It means that common 6-sided wrenches or sockets will not fit these nuts.

The piggnuts aren't threaded so the wrench thing doesn't matter. License plate screw caps aren't threaded either, they're caps that cover the screws. They just snap onto the plastic washer piece shown in the kit I posted. If you look at the back of the piggnuts you can see where the metal is trimmed away and in just the right spot where it could snap onto that plastic washer found in the kit I posted. If they're not license plate screw caps so be it, but they are definitely an end cap for something.

but, from what we can tell they originally all came with both ends closed. Lawn mowers or something most likely knocked the ends off.
